This is a great book by guys who know what they are talking about. It is NOT an introduction to programming - you need to have some programming skills before going in. But it is exactly what a programmer who is considering developing plugins for WordPress needs. Highly recommended.

Anyone can write a plugin. In fact, there's an entire guide/developer handbook dedicated to helping anyone create their first plugin. What that said, it's not as easy as it sounds. Just write a plugin and poof, problem solved. Where do you start? What are best practices? You're going to have a lot of questions. This is the book with most, if not all, the answers.

Good book with salient information, nothing extraneous and just what you need to get writing WP plugin's - very happy. Recommend to other programmers.

Amazing book. Does a pretty decent job of explaining WordPress in its entirety.

If you want to create WordPress plugins and have a resource that is up to date. This is it. Trust me, I looked and this was the resource I needed.

Great book. Really helpful

All three authors are well-known and trusted members of the WordPress community. The subject matter is presented in an easily understandable way and apart from learning plugin developent, the book can be used as a reference guide. The only notable omission is the WordPress customizer which although originally known as the 'theme customizer' is also used in plugins which add content that can be styled or customized.
