Kind of suck - buy the larger pair

This is a rugged pair of shears! I had a fairly thick piece of PEI that I had to trim, but I didn't have anything at home to trim it with, so I took it into work knowing that one of the guys in the shop would probably have something I could use. When I asked our parts production supervisor, he went over to one of the machines we have and pulled one of these out of the bottom of a tool compartment that was attached to the machine. It looked aged and worn out, it was a bit rusted and kind of grimy. When I asked how long he had these, he said "I don't know, they've been in the bottom of that box since I've been here", and he has been there over 25 years. What happened next was the real kicker though...he grabbed a thin cloth rag and started clipping it into small pieces! I was stunned, this set of shears didn't look like it could clip anything anymore. My next question was, "who made these?". It had a blue handle on it with the slightly faded yellow name "IRWIN" still clearly visible on it as well. I remember things that impress me, so when I came home that night I was hell bent on seeing if these were still available. To my surprise I found it right here on Amazon, and the price was right! Honestly, these shears are so sharp I had no problem cutting the PEI, in fact they are so sharp, they will even cut paper (cleanly!). These are top quality shears, and I know the pair I bought will be around long after I'm gone! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!

Bought these for my husband a couple of years ago he promptly proceeded to lose them but before he did so he was very excited so I guess it’s a good product lol

These shears cut thin metal very well, even some curves. For me the problem is the size of the holes in the handle. The handle is covered with soft plastic. This is fine, but makes the holes two small for the fingers to fit comfortably. My hands are not small and not large. I believe the problem is the shears were engineered to fit a hand before the plastic covering was applied.

Here's a pic for size. They came smaller than I expected, but I love them. They are high quality and super-sharp out of the box. They are about the size of large scizzors in your hand, but are made of heavy-duty thick tool metal. I use them as a utility snips for small jobs, but I liked them so much I got the next size up for bigger jobs. Great all-purpose chompers for quick and small jobs. Just get them already....
