Get the black...not the black and yellow ones
My battle with mice in our home is now in its 6th year. The mice our house are smart enough to get into Harvard. If you keep the same trap, they'll learn to avoid the traps. I've tried poison bait. After a couple of weeks, they stopped eating. I can see mice running around, they just avoid the bait. If you do bait, try changing up the flavor once a month or try different baits such as soft baits to keep them guessing. I then tried the rolling log on a bucket. That worked great, then they figured it out and don't walk the log any more. Then I went to the sticky pads. That also caught a lot, now they won't even approach the sticky pads. Worse, they actually figured out how to escape the pad. They actually fought their way out. Then they chewed their way out. At first, the catch rate on the sticky pad was 80%, now it's 20% if they get caught at all. I've tried electric traps, trust me, skip it. Yes, I keep the house clean of food ...btw...I learned they love dry dog food and steals if from the dow bowl and carries it to their nest. We feed the dog once a day and empty the bow right away. Exterminator you ask? They've all been outsmarted and chased away by these crazy rodents. So, I've cycled back to the snap traps. I had the wooden ones. They're cheap but a bit hard to set and a bit unreliable. So I wanted to try the newer plastic ones. But I wasn't sure what works best. The Black one with the jaws, or the Black and Yellow design that is also sold by this Coscov company. The Black and Yellow was described as for small mice. I don't have rats so I wanted to try that along with the black. The short version is the Black is the better one. Much easier to set. And for what ever reason, has caught many more mice than the Black and Yellow. I caught 6 with the Black, and one with the Black and Yellow this week. The Black and Yellow is also harder to set. It's easier than the wooden traps, but harder than the Black. As far as the description for mouse size, it doesn't seem to matter since the Black ones seems a bit more sensitive and catches small mice without issues. I bought a couple dozens of Black and Yellow which I'll keep despite the inferior design. I'll use it to give the mice some variety. But if you want the best design, get the Black one.Edit: I've had less than 10% success with the Black and Yellow ones.....mice ate the bait but never triggered. I'll be returning them.5 stars for the Black ones0 stars for the Black and Yellow ones

Super easy to set, excellent kill rate and no mess cleanup
These are the best traps I have used, ever. The bait cup removes from the bottom, real easy to fill and put back. It clicks with a twist and stays secure. The trap itself it so easy to set. Keep it level to make sure the catch engages properly, push on the spring bar top and it sets with a soft click. There's a wide paddle with a hole for access to the bait cup, and takes almost no force to spring. I thought I only had one mouse to catch, and by the morning of day 3 after setting the traps, I had a second. Quick and immediate kill with the serrated jaws on the bars. Not so brutal that it cuts, but it crushes the spine and internals for a very quick kill. Cleanup is just as easy. Pick up the trap by any part of the plastic, and half set the spring bar to release the mouse into the garbage. It really couldn't be easier. Make sure to clean the traps between kills. Scents can linger on the trap and deter any other mice from getting too close. At this price for a pack of 12, I hope they keep making these. I set out 7 of the 12, and first night had the first kill.

Boy do they work! 30 Mice Down!
Can't believe these are in the top 10 of things I've purchased on Amazon haha. They are super easy to use and re-use. They work really well. I had some Bait Block so I tried that at first, but it's easy for them to get out without touching. So I switched to peanut butter and boy did that work. I probably got 15 in my first hour, and lost track after 30. These are all outside, thank God I didn't have that many in my house! The best part is that you can just open the clip and toss the mouse, and the peanut butter is usually untouched, so I just put it right back out.

Bait Cups Missing
This would be an excellent product except that half the bait cups were missing making the traps very expensive and half of them unusable. I ordered the twelve pack. The traps themselves are well-built, easy to use and very effective. I emailed the seller about the missing bait cups but never heard back from them. Very disappointing.

Easy to use and effective at killing mice humanely
I love animals and hate to kill mice, but they were seriously invading my mountain house and getting into the cupboards. I refuse to use sticky/glue traps or anything that doesn't kill the mouse instantly. I bought the "black" traps that have the pointy plastic teeth, so that's what my review is for. I haven't tested the "green" ones with the metal bar. Before buying them, I questioned whether a mostly plastic trap could really have enough force to kill a mouse instantly. But they are easy to use, easy to pop the little "bait cup" out to add peanut butter, and the toothed model creates less mess than the barred models because the teeth crush the mouse's neck more effectively, I think. I heard one go off and checked it within 10 seconds later -- the mouse was clearly dead and probably never knew what hit it.I like that I don't have to touch the mouse or bar to release it into the trash. Just hold the trap over the trash can and pinch from the opposite end of where the mouse is trapped. Then I drop the used trap into a bucket of bleach water for a few hours to disinfect and dissolve the uneaten peanut butter, and they're ready to re-use.

What I like about this mouse trap is ......
What I like about this mouse trap is the removable bait cup. It takes quarter turn to remove it from the bottom and add your bait ....... any brand of creamy peanut butter works great. The traps have been working very well for me and the bait being in a recessed cup increases the likelihood of trapping the mouse. Previously I was using the TomKat snap traps and they worked well but many times the mouse was able to lick off the bait without triggering the trap. What sets this new trap apart from other traps of a similar appearance (e.g. I was using a Terminix brand trap which looked like this trap) is (a) the removable bait cup, (b) the ease of inserting bait, (c) the durability of the traps. The Terminix traps lasted less than 6 trappings because the spring was breaking theplastic supports. This new trap appears to have a better construction and has been doing an excellent job of trapping mice. This is my new mouse trap of choice ..... I'm going to buy some more.
