Definitely not made of any wood I'm familiar with, unless plastic is a form of wood now.The partition itself is also super light, almost flimsy. We are using a couple flower pots on either side to stabilize it.The picture frames do spin 360 degrees, but don't plan on them holding anything thick, the inserts at super thin and I doubt a double matted picture could actually squeeze in. the plastic coverings for the frames were also scratched up upon arrival.Overall, I would not say it's the best out there, but my wife likes the look, and it was cheaper than most other partitions on Amazon.

Clear plastic panel covers not great
The plastic panels cracked easy however used it without the panels

Look nice, but are very unsturdy, tip over easily if barely touched. But for the low price, worth the money.
