Mace 3-in-1 Personal Model Pepper Spray

I have given these to so many people - men and women. This is an excellent product, which gives you a fighting chance, if a person runs into one of those horrible situations which are all too prevalent in today's world. I keep one in my purse, another easily accessible Mace in my car, and one in the house, which my husband and I place between our pillows at night. The "triple action" ensures that the tear gas will still, temporarily, disable a person, even if you miss the perp's eyes. Just read the Police News in your local paper - no matter how nice of an area you live in - and you will see why this is a good idea. My daughter-in-law formerly scoffed at the idea of carrying Triple Action Mace while jogging/walking....until she read about a young lady who - in broad daylight, on a traveled road where NO ONE stopped to help her - was jogging, and a perp stopped his truck and tried to drag her into it. If the young lady had had this Mace, the criminal would have been instantly incapacitated. And, if you are not trained to carry a gun, this is a great option.

This is just a replacement for the one that expired. My wife and daughter both carry this one. We've been buying this one for years. I have tested the ones that expired and they shoot pretty far and they shoot quite a bit. This one would be my recommendation, because you can conceal it, it's easy to carry. It's small, and it's not in the way and it's easy to use. We have never had one leak.

I bought this Police Model because of the largest thumb well. The normal Mace brand spray has the metal canister exposed which is perfectly fine, but I like this model cause the canister is encased by a Polymer frame! I posted a few photos I took comparing its size to a 16.9 floz bottle of water and also in my hand which are about medium size. Also the Police model comes with a pocket clip that allows the Mace to sit upside down in the pocket. Which you can tell it was well thought out because when you would reach down to grab it you would want the top where your thumb would go to face down so all you would have to do is bring it up to eye or face level in one quick motion. This product has the uv dye so the police can identify the attacker if they are caught. It's 18g also. I had gotten my gf another brand which is also a great brand but it is a small Pepper spray bottle...8g. That's to small and easy to make a mistake and it be gone that fast. If your searching for Mace and looking at a few different kinds definitely get this!! It's priced well and is a reliable brand. I'm going to purchase a few more! Photos I included compare the size to the Personal Defense Mace Brand spray also. The shipping was a day earlier than expected. Packaging was in perfect condition also! I uploaded a bunch of photos so you can get an idea of size comparison and design.

Some of the reviews concerned me, like it might be some bootleg version here. I had ordered the “Personal” model triple action. Tested it out, and it works fine, thankfully. One thing I realized too late was that only the “police model” version has a belt clip (not the pocket version nor personal version). Amazon did not seem to clarify this that well, or maybe I’m just the idiot who didn’t scrutinize carefully earlier. Anyways, the one I got here is fine. But, I just ordered more directly from MACE online, figured I’ll just buy directly from the source for things like this and not take any chances…

As a 35 year law enforcement officer I carry "MACE" products with me now that I am retired. His particular product is smaller in size then some but large enough that when you need it you and "grab" it quickly. It has a choice of a "clip" for a belt or pocket carry and a a chain for your key ring. In most State it is a requirement the person carrying it is 18 Years old, so check with your local laws. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR SELF PROTECTION, FOR EVERYONE. If you only use it once in your life to ward off an attacker for your self or to even help another victim, you will be glad you had it. PS - Pepper Spray it does not work on dogs, and usually just makes them more agitated, there is a different model for animals.

I bought this last year. I saw the negative reviews about the spray on here today so I went outside and sprayed my year old can. It sprayed about six feet. That is an estimation. I have never had to use the pepper spray. I carry it with me when I walk. I attach it to one of those coil wristband keychains and wear it on my wrist so it's always right there ready to use if necessary. It makes me feel better to have it. One thing: the expiration date wore off pretty quickly. I suggest you write down the expiration date while you can still read it. Pepper spray can stop a person or animal from attacking you, but it leaves no permanent damage. That's just right for me. Going to buy a new one in the next few weeks to be sure I have a fresh can for walking this year.

Today is June 16, 2016. I read that one should test it by spraying it on a piece of paper or cardboard and hold it close to nose and smell it. Yes, it does burn sinuses and make eyes sting. It works. This testing enables you to learn how hard to press the button and how far the stream will shoot. It is NOT a spray. One should not be afraid to move into close to an assailant to hold the weapon about 6 inches from their face. I wrote 2018 with a felt pen on sprayer so I will know when it's expiration date is and covered it with scotch tape after it dried. Having this simple spray is better than carrying a heavy police baton which might get your arrest. I do carry a thumb flip little knife I bought from Home Depot and clip it to my front side pocket which I use to cut open boxes. Just tell the cop you need the knife to cut off seat belts in case of an accident. Might need it to help a cop one day. Tell him thant. Then I go out with confidence I will prevail in any beef I run into.

I carry one of these every day when walking my dog, a 100lb Husky. My intent all along was to use it to deter aggressive unleashed dogs from engaging with my Husky. One thing was for certain. One of the dogs would not fair well. Most likely not my Husky. Anyway a loose dog, a large breed came charging. I was able to use the spray (easily aimed), effective I'd say at 15' to break the charge and BOTH dogs walked away without any injury. The trigger guard moves away without separate action. Mission accomplished. This purchase is to replace the deployed unit, I've carried it for 6 years. Only needed it once. Priceless, I'd hate for any dog to be injured.
