Affective kayak transportation
I was wondering how to get my kayak from home to water and back again and these answered the call! I have an older car so wasn't worried about the paint but if you have a new car after repeated uses through the summer you will see some marks. The weather will eventually take it's toll after a couple years of regular use but worth it i thought.

its just 2 metal bars and some straps.
Ok guys. This is 2 metal bars and some nice plastic and some straps. This does not cost 70+ dollars but here we are.Might as well just get this purchase over with. The price can come down more but its really just 2 metal bars. What did you expect? Are you gonna build one yourself? Are you gonna compare against the others critically? Its just 2 metal bars and some straps. Just why is it 70+ dollars? gosh if this is 70+ dollars and works why do other people pay 250+ and more for their cars? has it always been a scam? Probably. Just for 2 metal bars and some straps.

Very functional, with one major flaw
Have used these racks a number of times in past two months. Easy to put onto roof and take off. An inexpensive alternative to thules, in a pinch. Haven't hauled anything very heavy [some pallets], but racks seem sturdy enough. The major flaw is the rubber cap on the feet of the racks. They come off easily and yesterday I lost one. So far, I cannot locate replacement parts. If I am unable to, I recommend AGAINST buying these racks.Without the cap, the rack is useless.Or...immediately glue the caps onto the feet before first use.Until yesterday, though, I was really happy with them. Too bad.

Great for Hauling
My husband uses these on his sedan to haul his small boat to the River. They’re durable and extremely effective.

Cheap and flimsy - wouldn't trust it to hold anything
I wanted to love this. I have a naked roof surface on my vehicle so this was appealing so I wouldn't have to fool around with installing a REAL roof rack. The price seemed right and looked relatively low tech to use so I gave this a try. I was planning to use it to haul a 40LB duffle bag tent on top, but I don't think I would even trust this flimsy and cheaply made "rack" to hold even that. The most troubling components were the feet/towers that are supposed to hold the bars in place. They were made hollowed out, and the pads (which sit directly atop your roof) were sooo thin; think like a flexible silicone type material. I could easily cut any part of feet/towers with an exact-o knife. No thank you, this thing seems dangerous. If you have a naked roof you'd be much better off taking the time to track down an old Yamika roof rack (from the 90s?) - plenty of them still around on the second hand market (Re-rack, Facebook Market Place, Craigslist). Purchase 1. Q-Towers (to hold the bars in place) 2. Round bars (they come in 48-66" sizes mostly, you can easily cut down to the width you want). 3. Clamps - you can go on Yamika.com to put your vehicle model in and the website will tell you which size you need. Again, you can get the clips from Amazon/Ebay/Re-rack, etc.). Don't bother with this "China Cheapie".

Could be better
Pros:-It's a universal rack. Very practical and affordable compared to permanent options that require more hardware for your specific vehicle.Cons:-Poor build quality (for the one I got. Your mileage may vary)- it will wear and otherwise permanently damage the weather stripping on your doors if used for any extended length of time-likely to put dents in your roof unless strategically placed-dangly wratchet straps in your headspaceDetails:Before I start, I'd like to emphasize that this is a very useful and affordable option as far as universal roof racks go. Also I was completely aware of the downside of having wratchet straps in my car's headspace before getting these, and I can't think of how that could be avoided considering the circumstances. That aside, the reason that I didn't give this rack 5 stars is because,1. the holes drilled in the front rack bar were not properly aligned, resulting in one of the feet always being angled upward unless I crank the ever-loving poopoo out of the strap to suck it down. Even then it's not completely flush with the roof.2. My package wasn't taped up enough so the screws fell out in-transit. I was able to get some more from my local hardware store, but still annoying.I'm about to take these on a 3000 mile trip with ladders strapped to them, and will update the review if anything breaks or doesn't survive the trip. If this is where the review ends, then they survived and I'm likely still using them.
