The Passion Translation use more 'dialect of english words' than other version. I suppose it is erring on the side of clarity on the editor's part. it is not a bad thing in their phrasing as it may aid the one who picks of The Passion Translation for a gloss over reading but slow down and begin to ponder what they have read. I use it to take another look at whatever passage I have under focus in sermon preparation. I do like to read the Scripture rather than just going with what others write. Popular culture writers do not cut it in any form. I tell people all the time read for yourself rather than taking what I have said and start driving.

This book is amazing! The notes have been so enlightening if you've never read the passion translation get ready for a treat snuggle up and get the tissue box God is gonna shower you with beloved identity

Print is nice and big and the Bible is as advertised. Very happy with this purchase. The only thing I found strange was that they put the two additional Old Testament books Psalms & Proverbs at the end of the bible and not as the first two books. Its not anything that detracts from the Bible, I just found that interesting. This Bible is definitely worth the money I paid for it.

If that word "intimate" scares you, or if you get a worldly image in your mind then you are missing out on what God intended. He gave us Jesus so that we could walk in divine intimacy with Him. After all, we are one with Him. If you are after a closer relationship with Him through Jesus and by the Holy Spirit, then this translation will help you get there. Forget the naysayers unless you are just after religion. But if relationship is what you want, then this translation is one of the best out there. Take for example, Psalm 139:5 "You've gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past." WOW! Thank you Lord! What a GREAT God I have and that I get to be friends with. He IS my friend, but also my Lord and Savior. Look at Colossians 1:19,20 "For God is satisfied to have all His fullness dwelling in Christ. And by the blood of his cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to himself--back to its original intent, restored to innocence again! " Amazing what He did for us! Back to His original intent! And one more, Romans 5:1 "Our faith in Jesus transfers God's righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One , has done for us. " That makes me want to give glory to Jesus! What a great translation! I love how the author realizes and states "There is no such thing as a truly literal translation of the Bible, for there is not an equivalent language that perfectly conveys the meaning of the biblical text. It must be understood in its original cultural and linguistic settings. This problem is best addressed when we seek to transfer meaning, not merely words, from the original text to the receptor language." Go for it! It will only bring you closer to the One who LOVES you the most. Allow Him to lavish you with love, and then you'll be able to lavish others, undeserving like yourself, with love.
