From the creator who brought you notable works such as The Flowers of Evil , Happiness , and Inside Mari , comes a new suspense drama centering on the theme of a toxic parent. Dive into this latest thriller by master storyteller, Shuzo Oshimi. Seiichi's mother loves him very much, and his days pass with placid regularity. School, friends, even the attention of his attractive classmate Fukiishi. Until one terrible summer day, that all changes... Shuzo Oshimi ( The Flowers of Evil ) delivers his most unsettling work yet, the tale of a seemingly normal family suddenly swallowed up by the creeping horror of everyday life. Gorgeous art and an understated script only serve to heighten the tension as we watch Seiichi Osabe's life spiral into nightmare. Review: Enjoyable read - Great read Review: pleased - many thanks

Uncomfortable feeling
This is a fantastic series, as you can expect with Shuzo Oshimi it makes you feel uncomfortable whilst reading. The overall story is about a mother and son, I don't want to say anymore than that. There's very little text in this manga so you'll finish it in about 15mins. But it'll keep you turning pages and you'll cringe whilst doing so. Brilliant

Might be one of my new favourites
(Manga) So this is going to be an overall review of the 4 volumes that I have read so far (won't have spoilers dw) This manga is just straight up creepy, for me it even borders being scary. This manga feels very grounded in reality so far, no wired sci-fi stuff popping up, it feels like it could be a true story which just adds to the creepiness. The way the story progresses is done in such a way that it gets you hooked. The art is also amazing, it's definitely my favourite looking manga from Shuzo Oshimi (10/10) (Amazon) All came in great condition and on time (5/5)

Excellent Condition, excellent story
My book arrived in great, like new condition. And the story itself is fascinating. The art, the pauses in dialogue to build the tension, the unease the author creates-as good as everyone says it is. Would definitely recommend.

Striking
Striking art with a lot of contrast and attention to detail. The hook was a little tame for me, maybe because I spoiled myself on what this volume was all about as I researched the story to decide if I'd get it. Still a must-read. I'm definitely getting vol. 2!

😯
Wow! Very very good, amazing plot twist, I’m obsessed with the art style. I feel like there could be more darkness in the first volume. But I have high expectations for the rest of the series, I will buy the second one soon!

Shuzo Oshimi at his best
"Blood on the Tracks" is a dark, heavy, psychologically intense, coming of age story. The story focuses in Seiichi and the relationship he has with his mother, Seiko. This book is not for the light of heart. It involves some serious subjects (including child abuse, narcissism, gas lighting/mental manipulation). It runs for 17 volumes and to avoid emotional fatigue, I would suggest mixing in some light hearted books in-between. All of that being said, I feel that "Blood on the Tracks" is a powerful story and is Shuzo Oshimi at his best. I am glad that I read it and highly recommend it.
