Automoblox Mini HR-3 Hot Rod

What an awesome toy! Everybody thought it was the coolest toy at the birthday party and it survived several hours of being played with by several kids (I'm sure it survived many more, but thankfully, I left the B-day party). I'd buy again, in fact, I may buy one for my office.

Having previously purchased the original generation 1 Automoblox on a previous visit to America, I wanted to add a few more as a souvenir for this current trip. I specifically wanted something more American and what better way to do that than a Hot Rod.As a model in itself, it looks great, chrome details make it look special and the classic Hot Rod have all been lovingly represented in this little wooden toy.However sitting next to the Original automoblox minis, like the S9 and C9, it looks a little out of place as it has lost that simplified styling, with alot more detail and embellishment.It also loses out some interchangeability with those older models as a virtue of it having side skirts, (the older models do not), so the when mixing and matching bodies, it will be very different. But other than being an aesthetic mismatch, functionality remains.This one is better suited to the collectors and not small children as when I tried to pull off one of the front wheels, the peg would stay in the wheel and not the body. Removing the peg from the wheel is difficult, as it is so small, and is just not how this is supposed to function. Also, with repeated drops and bumps, I can imagine the front axle breaking, or the bonnet coming off. If you are to give this to a small child, keep a track of it's condition.Overall it is highly recommended for an adult collector of car toys that is something left of field compared to an 18th scale model, or a Matchbox/Hot Wheels. Whether or not it fits with your collection you need to decide for yourself.

Okay, I have to admit, I bought my son these cars because I love hot rods. He's got a bunch of the truck and car Automoblox, but these hot rods looked too cool to pass up on! So he got them for Christmas and he loves them just as much as the other ones!

Purchased for my grandson and he enjoyed it very much.

Love the looks of this model, but we have purchased 2 and both have broken easily. We have many other Automoblox models and this is the only one we have had any issues with. Disappointing because my son really likes this one and keeps asking if we can get another.

Just buy one...very cool

We love our automoblox but this one's wheels break off easily.
