Lots of unfavorable reviews but it’s still a best seller.
When it comes to Master Cylinders the choices are limited but for one that fits my 1990 Chevy K2500 truck this is rated as #8 in the Best Seller rankings. Before you purchase one of these you need to know which one to purchase and for my truck it was Brake Code JB6. Finding the correct code requires checking the “Service Parts Identification" sticker on your vehicle and then checking the codes online to know which of all those numbers is the one for the Master Cylinder. The sticker on my vehicle was in the glove compartment (or junk storage area) and taking a pic of it is a good start and then look online for the “GENERAL MOTORS REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTIONS (RPO) CODES”, just RPO Codes, for your vehicle. My purchase was correct for the truck and there’s an instruction sheet on how to bench bleed it before installation, if you press the piston enough times over a period of a few days you should be able to detect a leak around the reservoir gaskets (the reason I was replacing mine) before you install it and Amazon states my return window is 30-days. Mine didn’t leak on the bench test/bleeding process and it hasn’t leaked yet on the truck. I did a manual bleed of the lines because the fluid in mine looked like diarrhea and I’m somewhat embarrassed for ignoring it for so long… especially since I recently replaced the engine, power steering, radiator and many other parts. I looked into replacing the gaskets and/or the reservoir but the cost was about the same as replacing the old unit with this one. I was thinking about replacing the booster but for the price I’ll wait until it’s actually needed since it can be replaced without removing the Master Cylinder. It was a quick & easy repair and buying it online was much better than driving another vehicle 40-miles to an auto parts store and they say “duh” when they asked me what the brake code was in the truck I left home. If it leaks later I’ll update the review but it’s working fine now.

Exact fit
Arrived FAST, looks like O.E.M. Fits perfectly & most importantly Works as it should. Actually, it's the newest thing on my 25 Yr. old truck, L.O.L. It has a quality look about it. I had a hung up front brake caliper that smoked the pads & warped the rotor. Replaced those as well as the Master Cyl, hoses & booster. Viola no more hung up brakes. I can't believe how clean the fluid is now! Very pleased with this part & would recommend it.

will not rate this product any higher than 3 stars.
product reservoir seals leaking, will not pump up to OEM standard pedal level. Pedal not firm but very soft and low.followed installation instruction for bench bleeding, felt firm, attempted in vehicle bleeding, could never get pedal to firm up. checked for air in lines -- none noted. Will be returning this item.

Do not buy!
Installed in my truck September 6th 2019 and noticed it leaking from the front reservoir grommet with in the first few weeks and then early December while sitting in a drive thru, my pedal suddenly dropped to the floor and my brake light came on and I had absolutely no brake pedal. Had to engage my parking brake for my vehicle to stay stationary. I want a refund and from the reviews for this product it needs to be removed from Amazon. I cans figure out how to contact the seller.

Never buy again
VERY DISGUSTED!! Well the first one I received was leaking around the front so they sent me a replacement one after bleeding it and installing on truck worked good for about 20 miles now brakes go to floor! It is totally disgusting I’m gonna have to do this all over again I would rather pay 100.00 for a product that actually works than be changing this all the time and playing in brake fluid!!

Leaks before it saw the road
Put it on my 96 suburban . Before the project hit the road it was leaking around the front grommets. Called cardone and was told they don't sell the grommets. The cost to return is a few dollars shy of what it sold for. Scrap metal

Leaky Master Cylinder!!!
I saw the past reviews and past reviews mentioned that these begin to leak. I went ahead and ordered thinking they may have done something wrong. I just checked mine a few days ago and it is leaking from the lower seal. It must be the pressure that causes this when applying the breaks. Definitely a design flaw! I will continue to monitor the issue, will see if I can stop the leak and will determine whether to send it back or not? But for now. 2 stars. No good a bit of a Hassle.
