The Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas

My kids really like this book! The illustrations are bright and colorful and done very well, and the story is perfect, not too long or tedious to read, but entertaining for the kids. I definitely recommend it if you're looking to build a holiday book library!!!

The book is a bit on the longer side. The storyline is easy to follow and the rhythmic writing makes it fun to read to children.

This is such an adorable children's book. We read this quite frequently this past Christmas. We even gave a copy to our child's school teacher. It is a wonderful way to say thank you to care takers with a gift that other children can read as well. Very sweet story to it. If I could give it 8 stars I would!! Wonderful story and wonderfully illustrated.

I went to college with the guy who illustrates these books. I'm not biased, though. I only met him once and he was a jerk to me (which is why I avoided encountering him again!), but I have to say that his drawings in these books are awesome. In school he used to draw lots of robots similar to the Get Up Kids robots, and in some of his books he includes robots somewhere on the pages. I've bought all of the Gingerbread Man series and also the Ribbit Rabbit series that he illustrates. The stories are funny, too. My favorite is the Gingerbread Man Loose in the School, but they're all good, and of course there has to be a Christmas version! Very fun books to read aloud with kids. I can forgive Mark for being a jerk back when we were college students because, along with the writers of the books he illustrates, he is now providing me and my young relatives with some fun times. These books are that good.

Love this book! I bought it to read for my son's TK class. It's a wonderful example of showing generosity and appreciation for others. Students loved the rhymes. SPOILER ALERT..... At the end of the book, the students surprise their teacher with reasons why they appreciated her. So I had all of the TK parents help me with getting statements from their children about why they appreciated their teacher. I put it all in a book an presented it to my son's teacher after the reading.

My son's 1st grade teacher read the first Gingerbread book (Gingerbread Man Loose in the School) in class and gave it to the kids as a Christmas present. We needed this follow up book to go with it. This one is also cute and has a good message. The only thing I didn't like was the pictures. They look like black ink has smeared on them. We sent the first one back thinking it was damaged in printing. The second one came the same way. I think they are going for a newspaper style, but it is kind of strange. It looks more accidental than intentional. Other than that great book and my son loved it.

For a 3 year old it could be long. Find a good quiet spot to read it together. I love this Gingerbread man! The Author and Illustrator crack me up when his feet become mushy as he runs through water only to have a dip in chocolate provide him w fab new boots that can run and run and run. Recommend!! ( Recommend fire truck one in this series too)

We love the gingerbread man series. Books are fun and easy to read.

American book so slightly different wording (eg sidewalk) but my son is obsessed with gingerbread men and loves this book. He can read it himself and loves the rhymes and pictures! It came with a big wall poster. So bonus points!
