50 Better Boy Tomato Seeds - JDR Seeds

Every seed of the 20 I planted germinated! They are some of my healthiest and most vigorous seedlings this season so far. Can't wait to start harvesting!

They look a bit like dust in the package. So tiny. I tried germinating them several different ways. None sprouted. All my other tomato seeds did. Purple Cherokee, Black Krim, Azoychka and Beefsteak. Contacted the seller and they said I should have used a seed sprouting mat. OK. But I don't want to go through that fuss. Especially when everything else popped. Might be the Better Boy strain is tough to sprout. I've only ever grown them from sprouted plants I purchased. Honestly though, my first impression when I opened the package was to question their viability. They just looked too weak to sprout. I would try another source for better boy.

Only had 6 germinated. So they don't check to see if seeds will germinate before packaging. Seeds to float will net germinate seeds that sink will. Facts about seeds. The 6 that did are making a good amount of tomatoes. I should have cloned a few but didn't. I will have more of my own seeds next year from the tomatoes I grow this year.

Just germinated too soon to tell

Ordered from same vendor. First order nice fat seeds. Normal germination rates. Second order seeds were undersized about 10% of normal. 100% failure to germinate. Will look elsewhere for next order.

Seed appeared perfect. However the seed germination rate was below 4% . Only one out of 25 seeds germinated into very weak and unhealthy plants. They are selling old old seeds maybe 10 years old. Avoid this company like the plague. Probably bleached the seeds to make them look good.
