With gloves on break the tube and let the chemical coat the pad then place the unit where ever you see activity. This keeps them from reproducing and helps tremendously

Will this be good for exterminating American roaches (huge 3-inch buggers)?

This will not kill the roaches but it will 100% stop them from reproducing and having babies. I used combat roach killer houses and the gel along with Gentrol and it got rid of a 5 year infestation in 6 months, within 3 months I barely even saw any roaches.

Are these safe to use in a home with pets?

I would say use with caution and apply in areas where pets can’t reach like behind oven/fridge. It states hazardous to humans and domestic animals.
