Updated: Canopy IS Waterproof
I bought this replacement top for my EZ-Up Encore II (circa 2006). As anyone with an original EZ-Up knows, the original canopy is water resistant but not water proof - they tend to leak at the seams. I bought the white version of this waterproof canopy replacement top because it lets in the most light and looks the most professional at the higher-end craft shows I do. This week I put this replacement top on my EZ-Up frame, and it really fits very well - better than the original, perhaps. There are subtle differences in how it goes on, so as to be waterproof. 1st, the top center pole slides into a pocket on the inside of the canopy (instead of going through the top). Also, there are no grommet holes for the screws in the center of each side. The 4 screws that hold the original canopy in place should be screwed back on (to hold the frame together) before you fit the new canopy on. Instead, there are velcro straps in the center of each side (where the grommet holes are on the original) that you can attach to the frame to hold it in place. All-in-all, it was a good fit on the EZ-Up frame and collapsed just fine with the frame. I have not yet tested this in wet weather. Once I do, I'll add more to this review and adjust the rating if necessary. But looking at it, the canopy replacement should be waterproof as advertised. It's thicker than the old top and a more plastic-like material with sealed seams. It also seems sturdier. I hope it saves my stuff next time I'm caught in rain. 9/14/2015 Update: I'm terribly disappointed after having used this in the rain this past weekend. We set up the canopy Friday night for a Sat & Sun show, so we had two overnights with rain and two days with off & on drizzle as a test. Both mornings it was obvious that the rain came right through the fabric - not along the seams, as it did with the original EZ-Up cover. The drops bead up on top of the material and then soak through and drip down inside. This happened on its own - we did not touch the canopy top (for fear of making it more permeable, as it can with water-resistant canvas material). Everything inside was soaked (I did have everything packed up in waterproof containers) and needed wiping down each morning. Since it was obvious Saturday morning that the canopy top is nothing close to waterproof (barely qualifies as water resistant), I knew I had to completely pack everything up for Sat night, clean up the next morning, and then set up again. Even through the day with periodic drizzle, we had drops here & there come through. 9/18/2015 Update: the seller has contacted me to make this right. They'll be sending me a replacement top, and as soon as it arrives I will test it & report back here. Points for reaching out to fix this. 10/08/2015 Update: Ok, the seller sent me a replacement fairly quickly. Unfortunately, it arrived just as I was leaving for 2 weeks, so I had no chance to test it until today. And it passed with flying colors! It looked exactly the same as the 1st, but the material felt different - it seems like the same thing but with a heavy coating of waterproofing. I may be incorrect - it may be a different material but it seems just as heavyweight & sewn with double-stitched seams just as before. Anyway, I put it on my frame, opened up the canopy & then used the hose to douse the top with water. No drops came through. I shook it & no drops fell through. I even gave it a heavy direct spraying with the hose for several minutes, and again all the water rolled off the top & nothing came through. So, I'm really happy with it again.

This One A Little Off
I’ve purchased and used ABC Canopy’s frames and covers for many years. They are my first choice when needing a temporary shelter. Their canopies are durable and have always fit perfectly. The only reason I’m not rating this replacement canopy purchase 5 stars is because it is about 2 inches short of square. Regardless of how you adjust the canopy 1 corner will not fit properly down over the corner frame as it should to center the top reinforced attachment. Leaving the canopy opened for a week didn't allow it to stretch for a proper fit. It’s either off centered or one leg corner is short. Although the canopy doesn’t fit properly I’m keeping it. It meets my immediate need.

Very satisfied
In my opinion the most important thing in selling these items is "Will it fit my frame?". It did The second most important part is durability. I have yet to use it for any length of time but it seems to be. Satisfied with the purchase price

Poor quality in this replacement tarp
This replaced the same size tarp purchased a few yrs ago, and had stood the test of 365 days/yr in South Florida weather - lowered it several x's in the last few yrs, due to wind, then the poor thing had it in Oct with a Cat 1 hurricane. So, definitely got my $$$ worth on it!! Ordered a replacement tarp - ordered beige, which turned out to be a pale yellow color, is how I can best describe it. When trying to install, noted the quality of the fabric was flimsier than the previous one that had lasted so long. Finally got it onto the frame - took 2 of us! But just figured the manufacturing was different. So, problem became evident at the 1st rain - it seeped and dripped, although minimal, in 2 areas. But just as bad was the issue of the tarp holding water along the edges. The tarp was stretched as tight as intended by the Velcro post placement, and the Velcro straps that hold the sides, but the "canvas" drooped where it held water, so held more water! I was pushing on it from underneath to get the rainwater to spill over rather than gather into a pool - on its own, it would get full, then dump the water over the side SPLAT!!!!, scaring the heck out of my poor cats, who were now afraid to go out there. So, my friend and I lowered the post Velcro, hoping for more downward flow of rain - didn't help, and last night the whole thing collapsed in a rainstorm, breaking a frame arm, and bending the frame. Yes, my assumption is that it held too much water and that caused the collapse - we had no wind with this rain. So, approximately 1 month and $160 later, I am having to purchase a whole set of the frame and "canvas" at $425. I am getting "commercial" grade again, and back to the original brown color, and hoping it will be of the quality I had before. Hopefully it is only ABC Canopy's replacement tarps that are of such poor quality. I'm nervous and skeptical, yet hopeful of receiving the same high quality canvas canopy I had previously, at this point. Addendum 11/18/23: Don't know how that review ended up at 5-star!! It s/b a 1-star!! BUT: As I stated, I did replace that disastrous mess with another full-on price with frame and tarp -- just as excellent as the 1st one I purchased. Hope it will last another 2 or 3 seasons - It's made it thru one unscathed. :) So I'll go over and rate the new a 5.

Not durable
We keep this canopy erected 365 days a year over our barbecue island. We lower it during inclement weather, and hang sandbags from each corner every time the wind forecast is over 15 mph. We have had this in place for 3 years and have had to replace the canopy itself 4 times. For two of those it was because the canopy didn't fit tightly enough and sagged around the edges. Most recently with the canopy in the lowered position, we had some rain which filled up the sag along the edge of one side... so much that the weight of the water ripped/tore the canopy from the post. At the same time, the weight of the water crushed two of the "scissor" pieces of the super-structure (this is now trash). Speaking of the superstructure, it is made with oval-shaped tubular aluminum. This geometry makes it impossible to tighten up the connecting joints because as you tighten those joints the tubes simply crush. The connecting joints do loosen up here and there as the canopy is moved around over time; which means tightening all the joints is an eventual necessity. A square geometry makes a whole lot more sense from a mechanical engineering standpoint. I get it... these are cheap, except for the fact that replacement parts add up. Hey manufacturers: why not make something a little more expensive that will pass the test of time instead of constantly giving us cheap foreign crap?

Not quite a perfect fit
It says it's a perfect fit for almost all popups in the market. I guess mine is an exception. The canopy is a little large, which is better than being too small. My bigger issue is how it attaches to the frame. My original canopy and frame were free standing, which was great because i mostly used it on my deck along with some weight bags. This canopy requires that the corners be tied down to stakes in the ground. I got around that by running velcro through the steel loops and around the poles. It does have velcro strips half way between the poles to wrap around the accordion frame. Unfortunately on my frame, those strips are not at the peak of the accordion, but rather where the bars cross. The canopy itself does seem to be thick, sturdy and well constructed. Haven't had it long enough yet to see how it wears or how it handles rain.
