Fine Quality Staple Gun for the Workshop
This is a sturdy, reliable staple gun. I use it for mounting needlepoint canvas on stretcher strips, but I am sure it would be equally useful for a wide range of art, craft, workshop and woodworking activities. When I use this, I know that the canvas is going to stay firmly anchored to the frame until I am ready to take it off. It is quite sturdy and easy to load. Please note that if you have children, you will want to store this away from their reach, and preferably with the staples in a separate area. It is not a toy, or a paper stapler. It is a serious workshop tool.

Best Staple Gun Ever!
I almost never do reviews, but this time I felt compelled to let others know how much better this is than the competition. I need to replace my old staple gun. I tried Dewalt, and sent it back, then Arrow and sent that back. Both jammed repeatedly, misfired, and were generally the worst tools I ever owned. I tried the Stanley, and finally! This is easy to squeeze for starters. I ran a half a box of staples through it for an overhead job and never once did it jam or misfire, and the staples go all the way in flush. Finally a staple gun that works! Highly recommended.

Works Well, But Does Require a Good Amount of Hand Strength
We needed an inexpensive heavy duty staple gun that would be able to do some small tasks with temporarily securing some fabric to wood (floor joists in our basement ceiling). While this performed the job just fine- (we used 1/2" staples for our project) -it seemed to become increasingly difficult to push the stapler over time. My husband, who is very strong, noted this and said that it felt as if it were becoming increasingly resistant and requiring more pressure to push the staples through. I have fairly strong hand strength and while I was able to staple with this as well, and also found that it was a bit stubborn at times. We had no problems after going through 2 1/2 stacks/rows of staples with it jamming whatsoever. Overall, for the price, I do feel like we got our money's worth from this, just be (possibly) prepared for a little sweat equity if you have a lot of stapling to do into wood ;) Thanks for reading!

Great stapler
Works great. No issues. Easy to load. Easy to use. The depth setting is kind of nice. Doesn't make a huge difference but I suppose if you wanted to temporarily staple something so it wasn't super difficult to remove the staple you would use the lower setting. Sometimes we have stapler wars at the jobsite at work (yeah we mess around sometimes, what a surprise) but the staples come flying out of this thing. A lot of power behind them. They shoot very far haha.

The build feels very sturdy and the item is a heavy which is good ...
I had doubts about this working because of several reviews talking about it being under powered. I received it yesterday and I loaded some generic 3/8 staples I had, and tried it with a treated pine at the lower power setting... It worked perfectly. Then I tried it with a mahogany table and it too did the work perfectly. The build feels very sturdy and the item is a heavy which is good for this sort of things (The stapler body is all metallic) my only worry is the handle as it is plastic reinforced with a metal rod. The force needed to drive the staple is ok, not too hard not too soft. even in the strong setting. So all in all look like a good purchase. I'll update if anything goes wrong when I truly put it under heavy use.

A very solid and reliable purchase.
After reading a few of the reviews I was cautiously optimistic. The body is diecast metal with a diecast plastic handle. I've dropped it no less than 10 times installing insulation in ceiling joists. No damage at all to the stapler. I like that the staples load from the bottom (easy to check how many are in the gun). I've installed 600 sq.ft. of insulation without the stapler misfiring. A few times I failed to compress the handle fully and caused a double clutch to set the stapler. The wire underneath the handle does at times get in the way but, it's a minor nuisance. I haven't had a need to try the power adjuster. Overall, a solid tool.

Works Very Well
This stapler does exactly what it should, and it's easy to work. My right hand was crushed to pieces near the base of my index finger, by a dog that bit me, and wouldn't let go. Even after two opperations, I still have some pain, loss of strength and my finger is a half inch shorter. I was worried I wouldn't be able to use this stapler, but happily my worries were needless. This baby works like a charm. Easy trigger pull, and easy to lay it flush with your other hand pressing down. I don't think it will work on heavy plywood, but other than that it should work fine. Thumbs up.

Five Stars
What a piece of junk. My dad has staple guns almost as old me (40 btw) and this thing only worked through about 500 staples. Of which about 100 misfired, jammed or bent. You want to know what I was trying to staple through? Two layers of satin into owens corning 703 fiberglass acoustic panels. Shiuld have been an easy job. But this stapler held the project up. Didn't even sleep last night and the icing on top? I didn't get to finish my project. I only got 20½ out of 24 panels done. Thanks for the crappy quality Stanley.
