100 Great Street Photographs Paperback – October 23, 2018

Interesting collection of street photographs, Great collection of new names beyond the classics: Bresson, Frank, Winogrand, and Richards.

The photos in here are not by masters of street photography like Henri Cartier Bresson or Vivian Maier. They seem to be by friends and acquaintances of the author. Some are phenomenal, others are very mediocre, most are above average. Unlike the author’s other book on street photography there are no learning points here.

This is a great collection of varied contemporary Street photography, which has introduced me to a lot of 'internet generation ' photographers that I hadn't heard of before.I had the book on pre order for about 8 weeks and was super excited to receive it!What I particularly like it Gibson's text with each photograph - it feels very honest and personal, and he champions each photographer by teasing us with brief descriptions of some of their other shots which makes you want to visit their sites and view more of their work. Also in turn, each featured photographer lists their inspirational photographers.If you use Flickr or other sites to view Street photography, you are sure to recognise some images and go aah, I know that one! It's cool to see them in print.My copy has slight ink marks on the pages containing the text which appear to have bled from the opposite side with the images. It's not a major issue as it doesn't hugely detract from the images or text, but I keep finding myself wanting to brush away these little marks!This book feels to me to be a great learning resource on street photography too, and I am now re-reading it and checking each photographer in more detail!Cheers David for a great book!

This book was described as used, but it came cellophane wrapped and in perfect condition. It’s an excellent book that introduces you to exciting street photographers from around the world, explains what behind each image and where their inspiration comes from.

I liked it - I hope the recipient fledgling photographer did too

The text really adds insight to the images and helps the viewer appreciate the images.
