Neven Maguire's Home Economics for Life: The 50 Recipes You Need to Learn

I absolutely love this book. It has thought me so much. The recipes are fantastic and the instructions are really easy to follow. This is the perfect book for someone who is moving into their own place. I honestly wish there had been something like this years ago when I left home to go to college. Would make an ideal Christmas or birthday gift.

Gave this a 2 but really deserves a 2.5 because it so average.The title is misleading - it is not home economics because it gives no guidance on food storage, planned meals for the week, store cupboard ingredients, how to prepare balanced meals etc etc.It is simply a cookery primer with a selection of basic, (sometimes very basic), recipes, eg: how to poach an egg, mashed potato etc. It does no more than cover the same ground as a 1000 other cookery primers and perhaps not as well.

Training soon to be a Home Economics teacher, I feel this book would be perfect for students, the illustrations of the step by steps to each meal is great and would give the students a better idea and engage them more.I also think this would be a perfect gift for any one moving into their new home.I hope Neven brings out part 2 and I hope someday to meet him. 10/10 ❤️
