I am just getting use to this meter, I originally selected this meter because of all the extra features and the reasonable cost. I need to say that this a free replacement to test and review.My honest review is that the meter is a very good buy, pros and cons to follow.Pros: PC-Link is my favorite feature.This uses a USB to USB cable that connect and displayed readings to an older laptop that I plan on dedicating for meter tests. It allows you adjust the time of recorded readings and also print out results.Auto display light is handy to read in mobile conditions where lighting is not consistent. Reacts fast to without having to push any buttons.Large display.Solid feel to meter should last me for quite a while.Does all the chores that most good meters do without a lot of lag time. Normal in that regard.Cons:Continuity buzzer is a very high frequency that is hard (for me) to hear, younger ears may not have any problem hearing.Meter case is hard plastic, would be nice if it were softer.At this price you get a meter that is a better then average performer. You want more, you will have to pay more.

this unit is eather bad or won't work on capacitors i tried to check 1000 uf 16v on 10 new caps and got ov on allsame with 150 uf at 200v no go same with 2200 uf 24 v no go tried to link to pc will not work even though xp says it is working.i'm going to send it back. maybe someone has a better insight to this meter i would like to know. it seems to be a good unitjust recieved the replacement meter . just checked it out and it works great !!!!!!!!! the other meter would not read caps and just go to ( OL)checked this meter with my old meter ad it read spot on !!! will be checking other things to see if the meter will perform to specsthe other meter will ship back tomarrow ((((( toss it)

Works well as a multimeter. The USB port does not work. The manufacturer seems to have bought fake chip sets in China. This is the Port/Com issue discussed earlier. See:Warning Notice:Please be warned that counterfeit (fake) PL-2303HX (Chip Rev A) USB to Serial Controller ICs using Prolific's trademark logo, brandname, and device drivers, were being sold in the China market. Counterfeit IC products show exactly the same outside chip markings but generally are of poor quality and causes Windows driver compatibility issues (Yellow Mark Error Code 10 in Device Manager). We issue this warning to all our customers and consumers to avoid confusion and false purchase.[...]

When using the PC-Link software with the computer-to-meter USB connection you may find to software blanks out the virtual meter reading on your computer screen, and/or can't find the USB Com port. The USB controller chip is a cheap made-in-china knockoff with copyright infringement of the made-in-U.S.A Prolific PL-2303 chip. Latest drivers from Prolific cause a rude error 10 malfunction for intellectual property protection, and to fix it, for 64-bit windows computers you need to install Prolific PL-2303 Driver Version: 3.3.2.102 / 3.8.18.0. Check the control panel/device manager/Ports (COM &LPT)/Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port. Errors are found on the "General" tab, and driver version is found on the "driver" tab. Google search for "PL2303 Code 10 Fix" for appropriate fix. Auto-updates are a real nuisance.

Nice meter, however the com port drivers for Windows do not work period. I was able to get a driver and instructions that explained what to do off a motorcycle software site on the internet. Shazam! It worked like it was supposed to. No support site for the manufacturer. Good luck, but beware of the driver issue

The meter is great, however I purchased it to use the USB connection to my laptop. However it seems this meter I received has the very old or counterfeit "Prolific" chips with the Vendor ID (VID_067B) and Product ID (PID_2303). However Prolific made changes to their newest chips and drivers to render the adapters using counterfeit and very old Prolific chips unusable.

Three issues with this product: 1) The USB interface idea is great, but the drivers don't work. The USB port doesn't show up in the software pull-down menu. 2) The unit does not accept other banana plug cables, which I use for probes that do work properly with my other multi-meters. 3) While I fully understand that Celsius is the international standard for defining temperature, we in the USA sadly still use Dan Fahrenheit's scale and the multi-meters sold in the US should be able to accommodate that (just as our imported cars handle MPH along with KPH). Otherwise, it's an acceptable multi-meter for the price point, but I would look elsewhere for my next multi-meter.

I bought two pieces, the PC-link feature in both was working fine in the first time ONLY,,,, then suddenly no response in the PC program,, and the multimeter was blinking randomly and does no response .. I restarted my computer and tried in other pc and still no readings in the PC program... and the multimeters (both of them) do not accept any other button I press in the PC-link mode

A great and economical deal for any technician or home use and with many functions.

USB connection did not work. From what ive read online, this multimeter has a fake Prolific USB serial adapter, of which the latest genuine drivers block you from using.

Fairly straight forward multimeter. The USB output is nice but poorly implemented. I sent inquiry to the manufacturer and never received a reply.

I like it, the USB drivers are pretty bad and had an issue reading the port for the on screen display. But once I sorted it the meter works great!

Not bad for the price. No Win 10 drivers but used a USB to port driver and it works fine now. Wish it would update the logging with faster sample rates.
