The middle game of go often appears chaotic, but there is order in the chaos, as this book plainly reveals. The result of a joint effort by a tournament-winning Japanese professional player and an experienced American go writer, Attack and Defense lays down a few clear principles, then goes through a wealth of applications: examples, problems, and case studies from professional play. The reader emerges with a thorough grasp of how to choose strategy, how to execute dual-purpose attacks, how to defend with contact plays, how to force his opponent into submission or cooperation, how to invade and reduce territorial frameworks, and when to fight a ko. This is knowledge that no player can afford to be without. Review: Five Stars - Great diagrams and easy to understand descriptions of the moves in Go. Review: Main issues of the book are strategy and tactics of large-scale fighting in the game of Go - This is a really helpful book for Go players who have already a decent knowledge of the game of Go (I'd say from 10 kyu and higher), but who want to improve significantly!

Might be the best go book out there
Might be the best go book out there. Should be suitable for anyone 10k to 5dan. Quality of the print isn't great, but not something that bothers me.
