BURRIS FastFire Series Secure Reliable Durable Easy-to-Maintain Mounting System for Red Dot Shooting Sights

I recently bought this mount for my Vortex Venom, and it works great. Easy to install on my Mark III with a little red Loctite. Makes your sight sit nice and low, and shooting with this mount (versus the Picatinny rail mount) feels more natural to me at least. I was noticeably more accurate after installing my sight with this mount than before. Target acquisition is also faster because you can see the front sight. Got exactly what I wanted with this purchase.

Quality-made product specific to your model. Fits "Doctor"-style red-dot sights precisely. Dovetail fit perfectly. Be aware that the screws provided by Burris (mount) and AT3 (my red dot sight) were too short and would not engage threaded base. I had to drill the AT3 mounting holes slightly deeper to get the screws provided by AT3 to securely engage base threads. Despite the mounting issues, I am very happy with the Burris base. Burris customer service was very good when I thought their base threads had stripped out, but the AT3 screws were just too short.

I bought this to mount a Vortex Venom on my Ruger Mk IV. My research indicated that this was the lowest mount possible for the application. The closer to the bore axis the better. And the price is better than some of the custom high end versions, that aren't as low. The design is easy to install, self-aligns due to the curvature of the receiver's top, and is very secure once installed. If doing it all over again, I'd buy this over other options every time!

I recently purchased a used Mark 3 Lite that had a Primary Arms Microdot Reflex sight (no longer manufactured) mounted on the top rail. I didn't like the cluttered look of the front and rear sights (unusable with the reflex sight mounted) and the rail. Also the reflex sight was very high and forward making target acquisition difficult and unnatural. The PA sight looked almost exactly like a Fastfire so I took my chances with this mount. It fits perfectly to the gun and the sight. The mount seems to be very good quality. The fit, finish and hardware are perfect. I removed the front and rear sights, and the top rail. Now the only thing on the top of the gun is the reflex sight on this mount. It's a nice clean look. Having the sight farther aft over the grip makes it much easier to find the dot and put it on target. I haven't put the mount through much abuse but it seems like it should hold up very well. The Mark 3 should't put much stress on the mount anyway since the upper is fixed (non-reciprocating).

Alignment posts mate precisely with the alignment holes in the bottom of the Venom. Simple mounting procedure after you drift out your rear sight (and, remove the top rail if your Ruger has one). Two screws hold the Venom to the mount and also lock the mount in the rear dovetail. The result looks sharp and is about as low as you can mount a Venom on a Ruger Mark series. Very satisfied. Highly recommended. On the other hand, if you want to keep your rear sight in place and mount an RDS to your Mark series without using a rail, search for the Outerimpact mount, which mounts to your barrel using the standard rail screw holes that are forward of the rear sight.

This is designed specifically for the Ruger (I used on Mk IV Competition) .22 LR pistol. It was easy to install and holds the optic firmly. I used Blue Loctite (reversible) when installing to keep the screws in place. I would buy this again if needed. No sight pusher or force is needed. It just slips in and the screws on the optic cinch everything up centered and tight. It does fit into the dovetail left behind after removing the original factory sight. The factory sight therefore is not still installed on the pistol after the optic is installed.

Great item. A little tricky to install as I decided not to use the star washers on the 2 Torx screws. I found the star washers didn't fit inside the recessed screw holes well preventing the screws from reaching past their first couple of threads. That made it impossible to attach the optic to the mount. Removed the star washers and the optic secured to the mount with ease. Be sure to use some blue loc-tite to ensure the mount doesn't come loose. My Mark II looks great with this mount and a Fastfire 3. Sighted in at 25 yards, I didn't need to shim this mount or do anything other than make minor elevation and windage adjustments. I left my front sight on only because I feel the pistol looks better with it still on. The dot is above the front sight enough when aiming so it doesn't really get in the way. I'm glad I went with this mount, can't think of any other mount that's this secure and low in profile giving the pistol a clean look.

I was torn when looking for a micro red dot for Mark III Hunter. I really liked this mounting base that was advertised for Fastfire only, but I preferred the Vortex Venom red dot. I couldn't find confirmation if this base would work with the Vortex, but I took a chance and I'm glad that I did. It was a quick and easy installation that didn't require any additional parts. Install took about 15 minutes and it looks 1000x better than the factory Ruger rail that came with the gun. So, if anyone is scouring the internet like I was, here's your confirmation! YES, this Burris Fastfire base fits the Vortex Venom sight perfectly on a Mark III!
