Canine Friendly 66701014 Solis UV Sun Protection Coverup Dog Shirt, XX-Small, Raspberry/Charcoal

Pennywise is a 5lb Chihuahua who loves sunbathing, and we just moved to Nevada where it will be getting up to 120°F and sunny. This shirt so far seems to be comfortable to move and lay in, and doesn't make her warmer any faster. For a little extra cooling I wet it a bit and put it on her, and sit helped her stay cooler for longer. I got her an XXS and it's a perfect fit. Definitely getting bang for your buck with this one. We plan on taking her camping once it's cooled off a bit, and this shirt will definitely help protect her skin.

This is t-shirt style, so you put it over the dog's head and pull the front legs through the sleeves. It stretches enough that this wasn't a problem. Our dog found it comfortable, didn't seem to make him hot, and it's thin enough that his Easy Walk harness can go over it without adjusting. It appears to be well-made.Order a MUCH larger size than you think you need. Our 45 lb bearded collie's measurements are exactly right for size Large (no one over the age of 2 would consider him to be a large dog) and even this was too short! The garment might be 21" long, but it doesn't cover 21" when it's on a dog - more like 17". I had to order an XL to get it to cover his rump. The XL is a bit loose through the chest, but it stays in place just fine.While the sizing nomenclature is odd, this seems well made and cut to good proportions. I hope it offers the sun protection it claims. Bearded collies are all hair when they're young, but at 16 not so much, lots of tender skin peeking through. We had a 2 hour walk [less than a mile;)] a few days ago and no sign of burn. If it turns out this doesn't offer the promised protection, I'll update this review.

UPDATE: I can confirm that this shirt provides good sun protection!I bought this shirt 4 months ago, and am very pleased with the purchase. It's crazy that a 45lb dog wears an XL, but getting past the sizing it's a good product.Our elderly dog has lost much of the hair on his torso so could easily be sunburned, but he still enjoys his strolls to the neighborhood beer garden! I find this shirt very easy to put on and remove, even with a less than agile dog. It has great stretch and recovery, so I can maneuver his legs in and out of the sleeves, and it still stays in place. He hasn't gotten sunburned wearing this shirt, so it apparently performs its purpose. I like the jersey styling.Measure your dog and order at least one size larger than that. Our dog measured exactly for a size L, but it left several inches of his rump exposed - the fabric may be the described length, but when it's actually on a dog it doesn't cover that far. The girth of the XL measures larger than he is, but it stays in place just fine. He doesn't get overheated wearing it, and seems to think he looks rather sporty.

I’ve been looking for something to cover my 4 1/2 lb yorkie and protect him from the sun.He has little hair on his back due to alopecia.I originally bought an x-small but had to return it and get an xx-small.I do like the fit and it is easy to get on and off him.My only complaint is I wish it were a bit longer on his back when he walks it does ride up a little.Overall I’m satisfied and I think he is comfortable in it to.It would be great if you had more variety of colors.I would buy again!

I ordered two a xs and small. the xs was perfect for my 8lb. but the s was way too big for my 9lb. she walked out of it. it fit's my 20 lb just fine but he's a male in a pink shirt.. I think the sizes if you order one get the smaller size. They are nice and light material.

I really like these shirts for my pitties to wear after bath time and to play outside.I got them XL, which even the package recommends.. everything fits almost perfect.. it's a bit too long for my liking.. it goes down past their bums, which I'm not sure if they're supposed to..my dogs measurements are;girth - 28, length - 18 and they both weigh about 65lbs.I feel if i went smaller it would be too tight in their chest.So, bottom line, it does what i need it to do.And I'm happy

Stylish sun protection for beach days in sunny Hawai’i. Lightweight and seems very comfortable as my doggie ran around in & out of the water. Small fits him perfectly (18” girth, 15 lbs)- originally ordered Medium on the recommendation to go a size up, but it was too big so exchanged it. (S = 15” to 21” girth, 9 to 20 lbs; M = 19” to 25” girth; 20 to 30 lbs) Easy to put on & take off & wash. Doggie-approved & recommended!

This is really nice and fits good. The arms don't fit that well or I would rate this 5 stars but they are stretchy so it definitely helps.

I got the shirt for my foster Chihuahua that has anxiety issues and scratches her armpit excessively. She needs to wear a sleeved shirt to prevent herself from scratching herself raw.Her measurements: 8.5" neck, 13" chest, 11" from based of neck to base of tail, 5.5lbs. The XXS fits her like a glove.The material is not too heavy and is stretchy, and she seems very comfy in the shirt. The sleeves are just the right length for her.
