works great when using my mandoline

Absorb all the juices from your food.
I got these free with a mandolin and I am not thrilled. They are a little big for my hands which I can live with, but they are a fabric type glove and they absorb all the gross juices from the foods I am prepping. If that includes meats then they need to be laundered every time you use them. Not convenient if you cook with sharp objects frequently. I tried running them through the dishwasher since I didn't want to wash raw meat juices with my regular clothes. They didn't get clean and I ended up putting them through the laundry anyway after hand washing them with dish soap. It's just easier to be careful, these gloves definitely aren't worth it for me.
