Complicated but enjoyable
I enjoyed The Stranger last year so I decided it was time to read another Harlan Coben novel.Caught was really quite complicated but it was all explained in the end with some shocking truths revealed - and I love nothing more than being shocked with surprising twists and turns.Initially, I didn't like Wendy because I saw her as a nosy, lying journalist. However, I grew to like her because she had a conscience: she couldn't live with herself knowing that she had caused a possibly innocent man's (Dan Mercer's) conviction and subsequent death. That made her human and I really began to see her as a troubled individual who wanted nothing more than to get to the truth of Dan Mercer's guilt/innocent and Haley Mcwaid's disappearance.Overall, Caught was a good read and I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy thrillers with surprising revelations.

Corben doing what he does best
I haven't exactly been overwhelmed by the last couple of HC books that I read but for 99p I was willing to give this a try - and was pleasantly reprised. This author is very good at building up suspense and keeping the reader on tenterhooks (though often his endings bring them crashing down to earth) but I actually found this one quite an enjoyable read. The plot works best if you don't think about it too much (see my comments below - SPOILERS) - but overall I found it quite satisfactory though I did guess elements of the ending. Overall a fast paced read which kept me engrossed the whole way through and an ending which - though not as exciting as I had hope for - was overall ok for me.

Pulp fiction
I'm think I'm done with Harlan Coben now. You read Coben novels like you gorge on ice cream, you just motor through 400 pages and then feel quite uncomfortable and know you won't want ice cream again for a long time, that's how I felt finishing this book. Caught isn't terrible but it's not that great either, the dialogue is tortured and tried to be so clever but is just pretty painful at times. The characters are never really drawn beyond hair colour and body mass and so it feels like the story has been churned out rather than crafted. I did manage to finish this, I almost agave up around 30% on my kindle but forced it down in 2 short days. I think Coben has had his day, the stories don't seem new anymore and there are so many other authors to try.

Greatly Enjoyed, Especially The End
Greatly enjoyed this, especially the end, and I'm only knocking a star off for mistakes I don't expect from a best-selling author or "proper" publisher !!It's a story very well told and all the way through he takes different little turns with it and I was wondering........was our protagonist guilty or not ? I changed my mind about him almost all the way through. That's very cleverly done indeed.I liked what he told us on page 4 about the best men heading off to war. That is very thought-provoking indeed, actually. He lost me a few pages along when he said..."Maybe later, after your circle jerk". He may as well have been speaking in Swahili as I don't have a clue what that means !!There were some truly laugh-out-loud lines peppered throughout too.I spotted a lot of dropped speechmarks here and there which was aggravating and at one point I'd have used tack not track but I'm unsure if that was a mistake or the word he chose.I did get a little confused in places and one part still baffles me a little but it didn't ruin anything for me.I've read him before, I'll read him again-that's for sure.

Amazing
I love Harlan Coben's books because he is a brilliant author. There is always a few twists that you never see coming. There is never anything really scary. They are always a really good read. What's more he lives very near I did growing up and writes about places I remember even though I haven't lived there for most of my life. Thank you so much for such amazing books that keep me reading and remembering.

Enjoyable
An enjoyable murder mystery with enough twists and turns to make it a 'page turner'.This story did highlight the dangers of assumptions, gossip and lies - both professionally and personally...and how quickly people judge and believe anything.Great characters and an entertaining whodunnit.Highly recommended.

Plagiarism at its best.........
5 friends from college slowly being got at, mathematical genius who ends up a homeless schizophrenic ranting about Himmler and Tuna fish The plot is more or less the same as ‘Dont let go’ mr Coben has plagiarised himself.

GREAT
Another great thriller from the talented Harlan Coben. Such a clever mind to think of all those twists and turns. A fast-paced read which is thoroughly enjoyable. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.

So many twists!!!
What a good story! The characters were interesting & believable, the plot had so many twists in the last few chapters, I thought I was on the Waltzer!!! I also like it when there is a link to other books or characters and when Wendy made a phone call & the person at the other end said 'Articulate!' it really made me smile. I really enjoyed it!

Lost the plot
I love Harlan Cohen, but this book is below his best, I struggled with the plot, and felt it was poorly thought out and disjointed. I struggled to get to the end, I only persevered, as it was by Coben.......shame

Good read
Not his best effort, butEnjoyable all the same. This plot was hard to follow at times, but stuck with it to the end and ad usual it ended with a good twist. Would recommend this book to all readers of fiction.

Reprint of an earlier edition
Great read - I thought this was a new one, but is actually about 8 yrs old and I'd already read it. Luckily, only bits of the plot seemed familiar and I'd forgotten whodunnit so it was a stomping good read again anyhow.

Amazing
This is a story where the twists just keep on coming. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more crime stories from Harlem Coben.

Totally “Had”!
Enough twists & turns to drive a rat in a maze absolutely crazy! I enjoyed every minute, albeit it was a slow start. Just like a slow cooker meal it was delicious!
