First: I'm a carpet rookie. We have a remote cabin where it is hard to get tradespeople to do work, so i decided to install one room of carpet myself. I wanted to give myself every advantage so i bought this kick tool and the carpet knife also. Really worked well! There is no way around the fact that it's tough on the knee! My "one room" really had an attached closed with a double door, so was basically two rooms attached... which i did with one long piece of carpet... turns out it should have counted as 3 simple rooms. My knee took a couple days to be fully recovered. if your knees are not used to doing this every day, you may plan on doing one simple room each day or two (or just tough it out! Fair warning... :-) ) This tool is great, awesome padding and the teeth never slipped on the carpet. I was happy with my decision to get a quality tool!

I bought this knee kicker to install a carpeted stairway to my basement. I have no experience with carpet and saw a kicker in a bog box store for about $50 built felt very cheap and looked poorly made. After watching a few how to videos on youtube I saw this kicker being used and found it on amazon. Its very well made, the fit and finish is superb its easy to use and feels very robust, it more then was able to do the job and feels like the kind of tool that you buy once and keep forever.

Nice kicker, and looks built well. I am disappointed, as ad states Made in USA, however box says Made in Taiwan. Please update your ad and bring production back to the states. Thanks!

Awesome! My house of only 2 years old started showing rippling in the carpets and I knew I could fix them myself. I was a little nervous about banging up my knee, but the padding on this kicker was great. I do not recommend using this while wearing shorts unless you want the skin on your knees to take a slight beating. The pins are adjustable and there is a cover for the pins when you have to store it. So glad I purchased this it saved me lots of money on having to hire someone.

These kickers are very rugged and last a long time. For that reason I will not complain very much. I was surprised however to have received a kicker that has been well used, scratched up and obviously was far from new. Since none of this has to do with the function of the unit, I am willing to accept it, however I felt the need to make mention about it.

We had water damage and we lifted the carpet and dried it ourselves over several days for complete dryness - minimizing mildew/mold without the high-speed, loud blowers (not our first water damage). We've done some remodels and I've pulled carpet to run cables before. This is a lot to pay for a casual, annual tool at best, but I just didn't want to end up with something cheap that didn't grab the carpet without damaging it. This tool was perfect.As a bonus, in one room, I worked up quite a sweat - somebody should use this product and make a workout video - it will get your blood pumping if you go at it constantly around a room.

The website description states the product is Made in USA. However, the box and tool both say it's made it Taiwan. Amazon, please update your website!!!

I used this kicker to install artificial turf. Looks and feels well made. The adjustable spikes on it worked well. The knee pad was comfortable.
