Excellent gaming laptop
This is for the 5800 3070 16gb 1TbIf you're looking at this then I am sure you have don't some research already. For the money I dont think you can get much better performance as of mid 2021. Everything so far runs flawlessly, cyberpunk 2077 looks fantastic, Black ops, Warzone, Civiizaton 6 and A plague tale Innocence all perform brilliantly. The laptop boots up in seconds, the fingerprint works well for me and logs you straight in to windows. The laptop is very resistant to marks and other than the lit up keyboard is a very undercover beast that at first glance looks like a regular laptop. The screen produces a very nice image compared to everything else I have used.I have used it for some website development and use it for MS office and it works again fast and faultlessly. The keyboard is also very nice and responsive. I thought the lack of a number pad would be an issue but I have got used to it.All in all a brilliant laptop that in my experience can be used for just about anything you want to do. The colour representation on screen is also pretty good, unless you are doing high end editing and then you probably wouldn't necessarily be using a £2k laptop.Highly recommended 5star in my opinion.

Fantastic built laptop packed with powerful hardware, but to powerful to run in the end
First off, This is a great machine, build and feel are second to none. It packs high end gaming components in a body that proves just as comfortable in the board meeting as it is ripping through demon hordes. I'm mainly using its power to run though very complex data modelling applications which have out of reach of laptop in this form factor until now. And it really performs well. When on mains power this beast handles everything thrown its way. On battery performance drops a little as you would expect but as long as you use optimus mode (where it shares the eGPU and discreate GPU as task require) it runs fine. The problem comes when you want, or need, to use just the discreet gpu on battery. As a main application I use has CUDA instructions this is a requirement for me. And in this edge case situation the laptop is unable to boot on battery, it just does not supply the required power draw required for this level of hardware. After speaking with Amazon and Asus support (both great by the way) they have said the best thing is to return for refund. Even so I am still reluctant, The laptop as a whole is still at a level I will have to make my mind up over the next 24 hours to except the limitation or downgrade hardware specs. If you have the budget and you can would within the limitation this is truly a great machine

Amazon delivered an empty box and deny responsibility!
We got this package on Wednesday and stuck in a drawer ready for when my son came home today. Today he opened it and found it was an empty box!! Amazon support said they would investigate and send an email report, but that just says, "We have fully investigated" (it took them less than 5 minutes) and they won't do anything! I've now had to file a police report to progress a further investigation, meanwhile I've spent £1,250 and have nothing to show for it except for a box and a power adaptor! Also, check the product description, it does say that the only thing in the box is a power adapter, but the broader description is very clearly for a laptop. So I’ve been scammed literally by Amazon.

Excellent gaming laptop
Why advertise with the white model photos and then send the grey one. The laptop itself is very good well built apart from light bleed which I know you get with this display but I do think they could have done a better job. Battery life is very good if you are not playing games but who in there right mind would play games without plugging it in. Overall I am delighted with my purchase and highly recommend.

OVERHEATING
The laptop is great but it is overheating too frequently and i don't even have games running, im just browsing.

Not worth it
The heating was quite inadequate and the device would overheat and thermal-throttle frequently it was frustrating. It’s also slightly overpriced considering the spec. Don’t recommend it

Bought for my son to use at Uni.
I wanted to get my son a reasonable gaming laptop that wasn't too heavy and bulky, so he could use for lectures, plus also use for gaming when not studying till his eyes bled ;)The 4K screen is crisp and clear, the dual GPU option (which is pretty standard) is good, so when he's using it for studies it's quiet and keeps cool. When he uses it for gaming the fans are quite loud, but he's wearing a headset so it's fine. He tells me performance is pretty good (packing laptop spec RTX 2070). Thunderbolt is a nice touch. There are better spec laptops out there for gaming, but this was spot in terms of performance vs cost, especially during a world wide chip shortage. It also has rainbow-puke options for the keyboard if you're into that sort of thing.I marked the battery life down to 4 for gaming, as obviously it'll suck the bejesus out of any battery while gaming, but for non-gaming use it's pretty decent. It's very slim and lightweight, which isn't the norm for gaming laptops. So if you're not wanting to spend a fortune and not fussed about the latest gen nvidia platform it's a pretty decent bang for the buck.
