Lovely, interesting book, delivered with care on time.

My son wanted a book on Mythical Creatures and after reading Amazon reviews, we chose this one. He says “It’s a lovely book for children to develop their knowledge about mythical creatures.” Each page has a beautiful illustration and 4-5 paragraphs of writing. I think the thing we’d like to improve is the quality of the paper. As the paper is more ‘dull’ rather than shiny and bright, the illustrations aren’t shown off to the best - the colours could be more vibrant. But still, we really liked it and would highly recommend it. Ps my son can read the book with some help as lots of difficult unknown and new words and vocab

My 8 year old absolutely loved this, beautiful pictures and interesting.

This is the most beautiful book of mythical creatures that I have really enjoyed sharing with my kids. With chapers including Tricksters, Shapeshifters, Creatures of the Deep and Winged Wonders, this book has something for everyone and is sure to become a treasured tome! I happen to know a fair bit about folklore and mythological creatures but even so, I am learning about some new ones that I have never even heard of before, so it really is one for all the family!The illustrations are amazing and it is beautifully laid out too, as books by Dorling Kindersley so often are. There are plenty of dragons, fairies, unicorns, griffins, trolls, giants, golems, banshees and there is even a page on the Cat Sith too. This is definitely a book to keep and treasure and we all highly recommend it!

Whilst being aimed primarily towards children, I see no reason why this book can't be enjoyed by all ages. Stunning illustrations, followed by insightful descriptions of each beast and creature. Each page provides some history as well as a story, in addition they provide alternative page numbers to beast and creatures linked to the creature. I can not recommend this book strongly enough, a great addition to any collection.

Our daughter (7) loves this book. The illustrations are great and she enjoys picking out something new each night to look though.

My 8 YO borrowed this from the library and full on sat on the couch to read it cover to cover; he loved it!! It was detailed with enough cool facts to be interesting and readable and also summarized enough that readers don’t get bored; great pictures and would recommend!

I actually hopped on Amazon to find books SIMILAR to this one, because my son has read this book from cover to cover at least twenty times since he received it at age nine. It is the most well-used, well-loved book in our house, and we love to hear our (now) 12-year-old rattle off facts about different mythical creatures from around the world. I just can't say enough about the quality of the writing, the illustrations, and the actual book binding! This is a book he will forever associate with his childhood--we have always been fans of DK, but they really knocked it out of the park with this one.
