Some flaws and pricey- but nice.
Update- I moved this to 5 stars bc I love this harness. It's so bright and I get complements on it all the time. It's still more expensive than it should be, but they don't have any competition for the quality. I have purchased another for my second dog. Bonus, their customer service is superb! I highly recommend and haven't had any problems with falling apart since the first defective one. Love my light hound!I purchased this item on Black Friday because it was down to $49.99. I still thought it was really expensive- but I run and walk a lot at night with my dog and I want to make sure that she is safe. I received the item and was disappointed with the design. It seems like it can really only be used as a vest and not so much a harness for walking (my dog can pull sometimes so she needs a harness that works as a harness). I received an email from Simon- one of the designers of the harness asking how I liked the product. I told him that I liked it (I LOVE how bright it is, how cool it is, and how there's TONS of choices between solid colors and different patterns of changing colors that you can choose from- that part is awesome). I also expressed that I thought it was really way too expensive. Especially considering you can buy LED collars for dogs on Amazon for around $5. Then I told him that I was also disappointed that it couldn't be used as a harness itself- and for the price- at the very minimum it should function as a harness too. Simon got back to me almost immediately and reassured me that yes, it could be used as a harness. The design team made up of engineers had tested it to hold up to 350 pounds. He also stated that the cost purely came from the materials used and they were all high end materials that came from the U.S. I still feel it's too expensive- but ok. I then started to use the harness without my dog's own harness underneath this one (so I was just using the LightHound). At first it was working well and I was surprised because my dog pulled less on this harness than she did her own. After about 18 times of using it though, I was out for an evening walk and the harness broke. The stitching that held one of the clips came undone and rendered the harness totally useless. I was extremely frustrated at this point- especially considering I was out with my dog when this happened. Luckily she was ok with just having the leash on her collar. I emailed Simon and expressed my frustration that he had assured me the harness would function as a harness and that it didn't- it broke after 18 uses. Simon got back to me and apologized and offered to replace the harness. So the harness is not without it's flaws. A) It's super pricey- even when on sale. B) The stitching can come undone- maybe I just had a dud one (let's hope!) But something to look out for. I do still really love the brightness of the harness. I feel like $34.99 would be a much more reasonable price for it though.

Shine bright like a diamond
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This review is actually for three products that I have shown in the attached video. I walk my dogs at night which can be an obvious challenge. I purchased the noxgear light hound harness, the baxia solar lights, and a illumiseen LED collar. I pretty much like all 3 items and I’m happy with all three with a few exceptions.Baxia lights -5 stars so easy to install a cave man could do it. They are motion sensitive so they only light with detected motion. The one tiny little gripe I had was mine were missing instructions so I had to look up on You Tube how to trigger the “on” button which is with the use of the tiny paper clip doo dad that comes with the package. I’ve had them for over 2 months and they are still working great and are bright.Illumiseen LED collar-4stars like it but wish it was brighter. Also I purchased the wrong size a large for my GSD in the video. Not the products fault of course. I’ve had it for over 4 months and it’s still going strong. I have to recharge about every 2 weeks of use and I walk my dogs 1.5 miles every night and let them play outside.Noxgear light hound harness- 3 stars dang wish I could give it 5. This thing shines bright like a diamond. Drivers in their cars at night literally stop me and say “thank you!” I’ve had so many compliments on this thing and it holds a charge for a long time. I don’t really need to charge it for a good 3 weeks. Now the bad on this and it’s bad. The adjustment on this thing is terrible. I mean I’m a clothing design major and have a bachelors degree. I also have been sewing for over 30 years. I’m not the best tailor but even I know a construction flaw when I see it and this one has it. Overall the build and materials may initially justify the cost. This thing is expensive!! $60! I’ve had it for about 4 months and it’s falling apart already. Parts have literally fallen off. The adjustment component to this thing is horrible so horrible even a person who has been sewing as long as I have couldn’t figure it out and there are no instructions. It’s got this wonky Velcro thing that is supposed to hide extra length of strap that makes ZERO sense at all. One part literally ripped off meaning the straps used are of inferior quality. There is also this black button underneath that keeps getting unscrewed. I have ZERO idea why there is a leash loop on this thing the quality of the straps is horrible. With all these design flaws it truly does shine bright like a diamond but really should cost closer to $30 instead of $70. I purchased a medium for my 45lb husky and it is way too big but can be adjusted.

Nearly Perfect
We bought this as a Christmas present to our 60-pound boxer-bulldog mix. She's very energetic, and we take her to the North Georgia mountains to see my parents (they're on 30 acres of wooded land). This is perfect for letting her out at night especially, where we could often hear her running, but couldn't see her. Fit was very versatile. Size "large" fits a big range of "large" dogs -- my big-chested, small-necked boxer can use this just as well as my parents' fat-necked, round-chested weimaraners. So why only 4 stars? It needs the following 2 improvements: - The main issue is that this is not a harness; it's simply a lighted vest. There's no way to clip a leash to it, and it's not built sturdy enough to actually control your dog. It's exactly as advertised ("illuminated, reflective dog vest"), but it has room for improvement (perhaps a future version). As is, you can't actually control your dog with this; you need another collar/harness of sorts, as this is strictly a lighted vest. I'd be willing to pay an extra $20 to have this integrated into a harness so that I don't need both a harness *and* this vest. - The USB cable to charge the vest is great, but there's no power block to plug it into the wall. You'll either need a computer with a spare USB port or some other device that has the block to charge this. As most people have a cell phone that has a power plug + USB cable, you could use one of those to charge the vest. I'm probably fussing over a non-issue, as I have plenty of power blocks around from other phones/gadgets, but it's worth noting, in case you're less technologically advanced

... these so I am going to leave the same terrible review twice for this product - at £60 each ...
I bought two of these so I am going to leave the same terrible review twice for this product - at £60 each it truly deserves the terrible reviews. My initial reaction was that these harnesses deserved five stars (which is why I bought a second one for our older dog after trying it on our younger dog).Summary for one star: The rivets holding the light fittings into harnesses have snapped out and are irreparable. One light fitting will no longer charge. One light fitting is lost due to lack of rivet holding it in place. A complete waste of £120.Longer version of events: About two months after purchase the light fitting on one harness caught in a branch and was ripped out. The metal ring holding the light fitting into the harness broke. I put it down to bad luck and the fact that my younger dog can be a bit lively. The light continued to work, although it now pulled out of the harness quite easily and there was always a danger of losing it. About a month later as the older dog was trotting in front of me on a level road the younger dog bumped her, gently. I heard a crack and when I examined the harness the plastic light fitting had a complete crack, the rivet had snapped out of the back of the light and there was now no way of holding it in place, except gravity. I contacted the seller at that point using seller feedback as it was too late for returns. I heard nothing from them. A couple of weeks later the rivet on the younger dogs light pack snapped off so it too was now only held in by gravity. Bearing in mind that this light fitting already pulled out easily due to the damage to the metal ring, it is fair to conclude that the quality of this fitting is very poor. I have persevered using the harnesses because the light from them is excellent (and I spent £120 on the things). However, this morning the younger dog managed to lose her light fitting on our walk and I cannot find it - I began the walk in darkness but by the time she lost it the sun had come up and the fitting is not possible to spot. To add to the problem, I came home to charge the light fitting of the older dog. When it is plugged in it usually glows red while charging and turns green when it is fully charged. This morning the red light came on when it was plugged in, there was then a slight popping noise and the red light has gone out. I can no longer get any charge light to come on so I assume it is not charging.

Returned - Not as bright as I expected.
I wanted to like this product so much - it looked like it was going to be exactly what I needed and wanted to keep my dog safe. Having had my dog run off, one dark night in the park, I wanted to make sure she was really visible from now on, in case she ever does it again. She is well behaved, but you can never account for squirrels. Sadly, the product I received is nowhere near as bright as the photos on the web site. Most of the light seems to travel down the fibre optic pipes and exit at the ends - the optic pipes need some more surface texture I think. Very little light is actually emitted sideways. If the product was a quarter of this price, I would have been reasonably happy. But for this price, it needs to be excellent and sadly isn't. Did I get sent an early version? I don't know. But this one is going straight back to Amazon. Disappointed. Steve

Can’t recommend highly enough.
This is the best thing I’ve ever bought formy dog. It’s USB recharagable & really last for 12 hours. The ultra bright lights allow you to see your dog from a great distance. My daughter has had hers for 3 years & still going strong. We use them for 6 months, 7 days a week so price wise it‘a nothing. It means our dogs can run off lead in the park during the winter the same as in the summer. Easy to wash. Can’t recommend it enough.

Fantastic bright light
We walk our dog Monday to Friday in the dark, I had a cheaper harness but couldn’t always see the lights depending on the angle. I saw this harness, read the reviews and thought I’d give it ago. Yes, it’s a lot of money but the safety of our dog is more important. We’ve just come back from a walk and it was fabulous, he was off lead and looked great (like a mini disco of flashing lights) would definitely recommend.

It is perfect for our early morning walks
Recently brought this for my rather large Staffie. Have tried others but none fit. Ordered a large and it fits him perfectly. It is perfect for our early morning walks, he can be seen from anywhere. We favour the flashing disco light look.Have had several favourable comments about it. Well worth the money if you care about your dog.
