does this drive play 4k blurays using dvdfab media player?

Yes it will, I have DVDFab all-in-one with the media player for my LG Blu Ray Burner. You can also use VLC media player. DVDFab UHD Drive Tool will take care of making it easy to flash the drive within 2-5 minutes to allow it full functionality. (too expensive to buy a la cart, you're better off buying the all-in-one)

What regions will this this play for blu ray and DVD discs?

Depends on the software version.

Does this work on Mac with dvdfab?

For Blu-ray, you need software to read it. If you don't have reading software such as Leawo or DVDFab, you can't watch Blu-ray video. Even if you build a computer, it is the same as if you do not install Windows (or Linux), the computer will not work, so if you want to watch Blu-ray, prepare hardware (this product) and software (separately).
