Will this work on polyester?

No. Tulip One-Step Tie Dye is formulated to work best on pre-washed all-natural fabrics. It is most vibrant on fibers such as 100% rayon, cotton and silk. The dye will not absorb in pure polyester, polyester blends, acrylic, nylon and fabric with special finishes.

How do you open bottles?

They don't unscrew at all. I tried with a players, a better grip with a towel..nothing. doesn't unscrew... had to squeeze the water in like you would do with an eye dropper. They DO NOT SCREW OFF.

Remove the safety seal if present and unscrew top.

Would this be enough to tie dye a pair of plus size women’s overalls?

There are several factors that would determine this. Generally, we say that a 4 fl. oz. bottle of tie dye can create up to 3 medium sized adult T-shirts. However, this is just an estimate and it depends on the overall color coverage desired, as well as the fabric’s saturation. Because this mini kit includes the 1 fl. oz. bottles, that will give you a total of 12 fl. oz. of dye in 12 different colors. Also, the tie technique you choose (bullseye, swirl, crumple, ombré, etc.) will also determine how much dye will be needed, and if you are looking for complete coverage or just partial. You may want to explore another kit option that includes the larger dye bottles to ensure you get the coverage you want.
