Great locking / throw / sharp beam / value
Great Laser. Easy functionality; strong locking mechanism; nice sharp beam; great range / throw; does everything I need. The stand is just fine - not amazing but acceptable. Nice compact case with extra padding wrap for laser (fits nice and snug). Extra grip / shock bumpers on device should help if it gets dropped on accident. We’ll see how long it lasts, but seems like a good value for a laser with all these features and great throw.

Great little helper!
I got this laser level to replace HF (noname), that started having issues with tactile buttons after year of episodic use. So I decided to look for known brand. My old level had some features, that I was looking to see in new level as well. Those were:- control over combination of lines to be on, so that was in my must have list, as this increases battery runtime, and also turning off the line not needed for specific work, reduces chances of being dazzled by laser each time you pass by.- magnetic pendulum stabilizer, which helps to level up faster, otherwise, every time you would walk near tripod you would have to wait for laser it to calm down, which could be a quite irritating and is common thing for light construction houses in the US.- my old level came with a tripod, which had 5/8 mounting screw, most of competitor brands that would supportthat screw size, are at expensive side.- while my old level had mediocre projection fan out, the lines it would project were slim, so I was looking for same. Now this Makita, it matches and it exceeds all of above, and it’s fan out coverage actually let’s almost 360 degree coverage for both planes if placed next to wall.Makita also has tactile buttons, like most of brands do, but you have to cycle trough it, which increases the use, but I hope Makita as a quality brand will not have issue with that button in future. For instance Apple could design their home button to withstand 1Mclicks, so it is all about quality, that are noname are n ver about. Also, 1/4 mounting socket on unit itself is plastic, while magnetic mount has both of the brass.Laser slits are narrow and recessed, which works well for protection, and rugged case compliments look and increases protection from a accidental drops.

As expected from Makita
Good product as expected from Makita. 4-stars because I would of liked it to be able to have the laser point to the ground and to the ceiling for easy marking for can lights.Update:I didn’t realize I posted this wrong review. This laser does have vertical and horizontal laser levels and works great.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First-rate quality and accuracy, wall mount works great, excellent value.
This is the very best laser I have found for anywhere near this price, far more accurate than what is available in the big box stores. Top marks in every regard, worth every penny and then some.

and Makita is by far the best one out there for its price
Have used all the popular brands, and Makita is by far the best one out there for its price. Nice bright line. A little bulky compared to some dewalt ones or my hilti one but for the money you can't beat it. A+ on this one Makita!!!

GOOD PRODUCT BUT WITH RESERVATIONS
Been using laser levels for some years now. Bought this one recently. Here are my pros and cons:PROSEasy to useGood solid clear laser lineCan be used for lasering weird angles (with lock device)Magnetic holding adapter (to attach to a metal stud)CONS180 degree display onlyMust manually turn to 'lock' --if you forget - you just ruined accuracy!Instructions vagueDVD worthless - could not get it to show. Took to library on their computers - still not working!Instructions say to check 'accessories list' -- there is none. Not even on Makita web pageIn instructions, they mention accessories are supposed to be: 1) laser detector for pulse mode 2) receiver of some sort (nowhere to be found on any web page!)Only good for 50 foot range then accuracy dropsNo explanation on how to use 'pulse mode'

Great product for getting elevations outside quickly as long as you use a detector.
This product is compact, easy to use, self leveling, works with a Bosch LR8 (detector we already had). My wife uses this daily getting elevations in yards. I’m very impressed with it!
