Komodo Grow Your Own Tortoise Grass

I purchased two of these kits but decided to test just one first in case it didn’t work as expected. I’m very happy to say the grass grew very fast and exceeded my expectations. I chose to plant the seeds in small pots that I purchased separately instead of using the container included in the kit, and they did great. Overall, I’m really pleased with the results and feel confident using the second kit now. Would definitely recommend!

Giving 3 stars because the soil contains perlite which is bad for tortoises. Changed out soil and 1/2 the grass grew quickly. Our sulcata has zero interest in it, she is picky though so others may have luck.

Instructions are easy to follow and grass grew tall within 5 days! I could actually see visible growth every 12 hours of checking on the grass. I trim the grass every few days to add to my tortoises food and it is continuing to grow back. My tortoise seems to enjoy munching on it as well. Cheap price and worth it for a little treat. Might be too small if you have a large tortoise— if that is the case then buying grass seeds in bulk made for grazing animals is a better option. For a baby tortoise or a small tortoise this is a great food and possible enrichment item if you put it inside the enclosure.

I bought this grass for my tortoise but she refused to eat them. It grow very fast Great grass if only your tortoise will eat.

I found a two to 3 month old African Sulcata tortoise in my back yard that was only a tiny bit larger in diameter than a half dollar. I would not and did not eat anything for over a week until I found and purchased this Mazuri Juvenile Tortoise food. Tootsie loves it! I moistened it with a few drops of water and she was all over it. She is now roughly 7 months old and is as large as the palm of my hand! Good food, big turtle!
