I love my bird feeder. The unit is what I expected. I did not expect a smarter squirrel then the engineers who designed the feeder.

See a lot of reviews on this that aren’t so favorable however, I went through five different birdfeeders and then found this one and it’s a very good birdfeeder. The only flaw is the feeder ports deteriorate to nothing in about eight or nine months and then you start spilling birdseed out of the ports when you refill it and the bird start pecking at it. You can see it falling to the ground. The ports are $11 to buy four new ones to replace so overall that’s not too bad every eight months to a year spending $11 to replace those ports, I laughed, watching the squirrels try to get at the seed and were unsuccessful and they finally gave up and eat the seed that falls below it from the birds, pecking and engorging and wasting some of the food, but they eat most of it. One of the benefits is I have a few huge sunflowers growing in my garden now ha ha good birdfeeder the top does not keep the seed completely dry if it’s windy, rainy but they still eat it and when it gets empty every few times I will take it and dump the residual seed from the very bottom which they can’t get at kind of a poor design where the base should have a little plastic insert that raises the floor up to where the ports are so you don’t have an inch of wasted seed that gets old and stale. Other than that, it’s the best birdfeeder I have found and the squirrels get super frustrated because they absolutely cannot access the seed where some of these designs that are similar have a range shield lower, where the squirrels can grab onto and hang upside down and eat the seed not this one this is the best design and worth the money

Large capacity. Easy refill. Squirrels were able to lift lid and crawl inside. Birds enjoyed the 4 perches.

If you are looking for a squirrel proof solution, save your money, this isn’t the solution. I took a picture after the squirrels dumped the feeder again this morning. They ran off when I tried to get them in the photo. A couple of thoughts to share, especially after the money spent. 1). The feeder is too inviting of a target. There is so much food in the hopper, that it literally acts as a squirrel magnet. They will obsessively find a way to defeat it because of the reward. 2). It took less than 24 hrs for squirrels to access all the feed. When I went to find additional guidance, I found directions that it must be mounted > 18” from the tree/pole to be effective. So I took down the first $20 mounting bracket and went to Lowe’s. There I found a cast iron arm and circular mount. That a is 24” from the tree. Another $30, same result 3) the weighted door/close system fails because it’s not weather resistant. I put this up in august 2022, and gave up on it the first attempt after squirrels dumped it everyday I filled it. I decided to try again this May and noticed the door sliding system didn’t move as freely as when I first mounted it. I don’t see anyway to protect it from the elements, so after just 9 months, I’d say life expectancy is very short. I wish someone wrote a review like this before I put it in the cart. Maybe it will save someone else the same time and expense.

This has been successful at keeping the squirrels out! It’s big enough so I don’t have to go out everyday and fill it and the quality and look of it is exactly what I was looking for! I definitely recommend this feeder

This worked great until something chewed all the flaps off where they feed. I’m not sure if birds can do that or if squirrels figured it out…

Extremely well-made and contains 4 pounds of seed and my birds will love it

I had this same feeder about five years ago and it lasted three years, then eventually the birds poked out the plastic, but that was a worthwhile run to me. This feeder was up 5 months and is now worthless as the birdseed just spills right out as the birds pecked out the plastic that stops it from flowing out to the ground. It is not durable, not worth the value for money, and not functional with the leaking ports. I do not suggest anyone buying this and given all the complaints over the same issue and the high price point, I will avoid this company as they know they are selling a feeder with a high ratio to be a defective product.

The squirrels have been driving us crazy! This works so well that I even feel guilty that the squirrels can’t access food lol

La mangeoire est vraiment efficace contre les écureuils: dès les premiers jours, nous avons vu un écureuil tenter sa chance, de toutes les manières possibles mais sans succès. Le design empêche vraiment le gaspillage contrairement à notre ancien modèle. Les oiseaux doivent travailler un peu plus fort pour obtenir les graines et beaucoup moins de graines tombent par terre. La capacité de stockage de la mangeoire est également appréciable et avec moins de gaspillage, nous la remplissons une fois par semaine comparativement à l’ancienne où c’était aux 2-3 jours.

To be fair, the quality is top notch. The feed is kept dry for a decent time. But the birds can’t be bothered with it. Sorry to have to leave this review. If there is something I can do to make it more attractive to birds I am open to listen.
