Are they vented at all? Don't they need to be, to use in the microwave?

not vented but don't need to be. I use mine all the time for quick heat ups. Love them for storing foods in frig and on pans. Have found that I don't use foil or plastic wrap nearly as much. Husband loves them.

Can we please get someone to edit the product description? It looks like someone was high when they wrote it.

On every product page you can "report incorrect information" via a little check box near the main description- at least on the desktop sites. It's probably easy to make mistakes after hours of copying and pasting from inventory to Amazon. Explore the site and you'll find amazing things- how to contact the seller so you rate the packaging separately from the product, for example. It's unfair to ding an excellent product because it leaked, but it happens all the time.

Why do these silicone lids say theyre bags?

These are lids, not bags and are excellent for use in a microwave to keep splattering under control. I do not know where the description “bags” comes from.

If one uses these in a microwave to cover a plate of food, will the cover touch the food? I can't tell from the pictures how high the top is.

yes these are flat and will touch the food. I bought the pop up king for covering plates. These work well for bowls in the microwave.
