Awesome Album (and a must-see show!)
I am such a huge fan of the For the Record performances at Rockwell Table and Stage and have seen several of their different shows multiple times. I've seen the Tarantino one three times already and will definitely see it again the next time they bring it back. I am so grateful that they released an album for this show and am constantly listening to it in the car--and have yet to get sick of it!Von Smith is so amazing in this show and I am so glad that he performs all his songs on this record. His "A Satisfied Mind" literally takes my breath away and is like a punch to my soul, it is SO SO SO GOOD.Having seen/heard all the different performers do different roles in this show, I do have my favourites... some of whom do not sing the songs I like best by them on this record. But that's just a tiny nitpick on my part since everyone in the show is so talented and sound wonderful on the album. A couple of my favourite performances on this album (besides "A Satisfied Mind") are Dionne Gipson's "Harvest Moon" and Rogelio Douglas Jr.'s "Across 110th Street".I am looking forward to seeing the next FTR show (The Marshalls) and I hope that they make albums (soon!) of their other shows (I'm especially waiting for the Baz Luhrmann one). If you live in/around LA and haven't seen a FTR show yet, you must check them out!

Love this LA group
I've seen For the Record five times, and FINALLY have a CD featuring the voices from the cast. Jason Paige is off the charts, and Von Smith shows us only a hint of what he can bring to the stage. The entire cast impresses. I'm eager to hear the soundtracks for their Boogie Nights, John Hughes, and other performances!

Two Stars
Not original artists on cd

Ugh. Waste.
I thought it was a collection of the original songs from the movies. Its a cast play which means they are covers for a theater performance. Im disappointed.

It's so cool to see people from TV singing like this! I've heard of a lot of these cast before from different TV shows and broadway recordings and this is so cool!!!VON SMITH IS UNREAL! I saw his show on E where he opened for Lady Gaga and when i saw he was on this i was so excited and he is AMAZING... but everyone on this album is. SO GOOD.and Anneliese Vanderpol from That's So Raven has the coolest voice- WHO KNEW?!
