NRSNRS Clearwater Kayak Lifejacket (PFD)

Haven't tried this vest on the water yet, will update after some use. First impressions, this thing is bulky. The foam is very big for 16.5 lbs of floatation, not a bad thing, but larger than I was expecting. Sizing says the XS/M fits 30"-42". My chest measures about 35" and I have this vest practically at its tightest settings. It fits me well, but it won't fit an XS 30-33" chest. I plan to trim the straps since there are about 6 inches hanging off each one.

The mesh back does two things: ventilation, and lets you sit back in a rec kayak without the pfd riding up. I really like the bright blue. Two things that keep this from being a 5 for me: the adjustable shoulder straps are just soooo long! I guess my torso may be really short, but I have a long pieces of strap flapping around. I know I can fix that. Just sayin! Second, I guess to keep the level of flotation a class III, the front has a big bulge of flotation. The back has enough flotation at the head level, even without any lower on the back. I have had a lot of different pfds over the years--Lola, Astral--and none of them had this bulky lower front flotation. Still, I like this pfd for flat water paddling.

We liked the fit of this PFD as well as the mesh back that keeps the preserver from riding up. The front pockets seem to have sufficient room although I would want my phone kept in a separate waterproof container somewhere else in the kayak.

This is a nice PFD. I use it for a kayak and love it. I got this as a replacement for the Vapor model that rode up under my chin no matter how it was adjusted. This model I love!!

I would recommend!

It fits well and is comfortable while kayaking.
