i dont know if we will reach the fully electric car world, but at least for now there is a lot of EV cars already driving around and even though they are simpler, they need fixing and maintance, and this Launch EV is the perfect tool for that, with special funtions like "coolant bleeding" and "OBC Test", you can do basic repairs and maintance, it has most of the american and chinese EV brands, including tesla, so for the price this is a must have, as all launch products, it has nice built quality, easy to use software, good battery and the option to add some extra tools like TPMS gun and the Battery tester. Compact, fast and easy to use.

Okay, so I got this to read trouble codes for my OBD-II. It is BIG! That's good for some because it is very easy to read it, and bad for those that want something smaller for better portability. It's pretty straight forward and you can easily find out what each trouble code is for through the database. It comes with a long cable for ease of use and includes a USB cable for uploading the data to your computer. There are plenty of functions for all of your automotive onboard diagnostic needs. I am glad that I have it. So far, so good. I haven't had any reliability issues with it. Because it has a large screen and buttons, there should be no problems for those using thick gloves to use it. Would I get it again? Yes, I am glad that I got it. It's very useful and simple to read trouble codes or reset things with this scanner.

Bought this to reset sas system on a 2014 honda crv. This scanner WILL NOT read sas codes. In addition it WILL NOT communicate with the abs module to command bleeding. A cheap foxwell that I have will read sas codes but not clear them, and that same foxwell communicates with the abs and command bleeding the system. So it is DEFINITELY the software of this unit. I even updated the unit online and had the same exact problem. Unfortunately, it's going back since it will not work for my application. Bottom line I would not recommend this unit if you need sas/eps/abs access. Otherwise it will probably do fine. Update: I'm raising my review because Launch attempted to help me to an incredible level. Their support went above and beyond, and while they couldn't resolve the issue they certainly tried. I suggest contacting them to find out if this scanner will do what you need prior to purchase.

If you're looking for an easy learning curve device with a decent amount of features, functions, and also for practical use then this is a recommended scanner. Many come in more expensive with less features than what this scanner offers. Features included in the description are accurate. Just keep in mind that some vehicles don't support some functions because they're not equipped with it. With that in mind, some features on the scanner won't work on some cars. If you're a professional, then this scanner is a reliable quick diagnostic tool if you're on the go and want quick data.

This isn't one of those cheap ones you get at harbor freight or autozone. This does LIVE DATA and will show you graphs and you can even transfer it to your computer and print it out if you want. This is caliber of what a lot of your pro shops would use at a massive fraction of the price I figured it would just clear codes, and do some other things but being an auto tech for 18 years this is really good. Also the photo makes the unit look way smaller than it is in person. If your running a small shop Or a DIY guy, this one does it all with a good size color display. This is basically like the tech of the tablet ones but in the smaller format, and smaller price.

Got this to replace another older launch scan tool and I'm glad I did. This seems to be very rugged for a handheld device. The features for the money are great, this cost about 50 dollars less than the previous model and has oil reset and sas. I also like the print feature on this as well. All in all it does everything well, I would prefer this have built in wifi to automatically update, but I'm just being nitpicky. It read all codes just as my more expensive units did so don't hesitate to buy if your considering this unit.

Completly unsatisfied, i bought it to check my chevrolet spark ev 2016 battery degradation and only shows the cells voltage but no SOC or SOH % (that is i wanted to know) as shows on you tube videos, and don't detetcs the JMEV3 and Cenntro avantier commuter brands of ev cars, hoping them add them on next updates, for now is a piece of garbage holding my door. The support is useless never solved my concerns

Been using it for a few days and I like it more and more everytime. It has worked on all Gas, diesel and EVs I have checked so far and does majority of what my other scan tool did. Happy to recommend it to people looking for a scan tool for professional and personal use.

Does not do tesla have a 2016 tesla try to use scanner to check suspension system pressure will not do. Try to use scanner to check battery system voltage will not do. Try to check park assist sensors and system will not read basically unusable with 2016 tesla model S
