... you plan to level your GMC/Chevy there is NO better way. Forget about that spacer level kit (do ...
If you plan to level your GMC/Chevy this is really the best option. This is of course assuming you are not looking to spend $1000+ on some Fox Coilovers..Forget about that spacer level kit. Spacer kits are actually awful for the geometry of your IFS truck. These Bilsteins do not negatively alter any geometric angles on your truck. They do not limit down travel or up travel. They may actually increase up travel, take a look at my attached picture. Bilstein has a nice blueprint how they work on their site. They not only can/will level your ride they also improve the ride quality. Hard to explain what the difference is like in words but it is quite noticeable especially over rough terrain. There is more of a controlled feel from the front end, with less brake dive, and body roll. I have had these installed on 4 of my GMC sierras now installed on a 2007,2012,2015, now my 2018. I put a ton of mileage on my trucks which is why I turn them over so much. For me it has become an automatic upgrade and very first mod when I get my new GM truck. I have had all conceivable suspension packages offer by GM-(z71,NHT, and z51?) These shocks are better than all of them, especially the Ranchos that come on the z71. I have experimented with all of the setting for these shocks, I tend to like the 3rd notch aka the second highest setting for these. They level the truck at this setting, yet still leave a slight rake for towing. These are also very well made. Very nice welds, beautiful zinc finish. It is highly likely that these would outlast your stock units. I have never had an issue with them.If you have anything short of a GMC Denali with magnetic ride control and plan to get that ridiculous "rake" out of your truck all while improving the ride quality----I say buy these!I install these myself with a wall mounted coil spring compressor. If you don't have a wall mounted compressor I recommend you get these installed professionally. The ones you can rent at an auto parts store are NOT safe. If you have a Toyota Tacoma or mid-size truck the rental ones are fine. These newer "1/2 ton" trucks (closer to 1 tons now more than ever) springs are very strong. If you do have one, the install is very easy. 2 hours max.

Much better than lift blocks
I highly recommend these struts. The quality is great. I had motofab 2 inch leveling blocks installed before these and I am shocked by the difference in ride quality. I have the bilsteins on the highest lift setting and it’s still worlds better than the factory struts with lift blocks. It’s advertised as 1.77” of lift at the highest setting but seems identical to the 2 inch blocks I had before. Very close to level. The ride is definitely a little stiffer than stock but in a good way in my opinion. No more floating around and no more brake dive. Truck feels comfortable and much more controlled. If you’re mechanically inclined and have the right tools (all can be bought cheap here on Amazon) then this install is not bad at all. Took me a few hours in my driveway including a brake job.

Good shock, failed after 4 years, lifetime warranty!
I installed these shocks on my 2015 Silverado 4 years and about 80K miles ago. On the highest notch, they level out the front of the truck very well and ride much better than the stock, non rancho shock, suspension. However, after 4 years, one of the shocks is making an extreme amount of creaking noise. In precaution, I will go ahead and end up replacing both of these front shocks with the same Bilstein shocks. Anything that lasts 80K miles with on and off-road use is worth it in my book! These shocks have a lifetime warranty, so now that they went bad on me, I contacted amazon to get a replacement. If you need a replacement on these shocks, do not contact Bilstein. Amazon has to honor the manufacturer warranty under their automotive items return policy.

Installed on a 2015 Silverado, Couldn't be happier with the results!
I wanted to level the truck without impacting ride quality or causes excess wear and tear on suspension components. After tons of research and reading reviews, it let me to the Bilstein shocks.I couldn’t be happier with the product. I had a local shop install the shocks on the highest setting and do an alignment. (I saw a lot of people doing it themselves and while they made it look easy, I wasn’t 100% comfortable with it so I left it to people who knew what they were doing.) For people who were curious, it cost me $200 for the shop to install the shocks. The ride quality is great! I have noticed in general it handles and rides better. Although because most of my driving is on the highway, it hasn’t been a HUGE difference. I'm just happy it's not significantly worse. Which from what a read in reviews is how spacers would make the ride quality. On the highest setting, these shocks level the tuck pretty good. While I haven’t measured it or anything it don’t believe it's perfectly level, just very close! In the end, I don’t care if it's perfect, it looks a million times better than stock. This is my first truck and the first time I’ve ever made any type of suspension change/upgrade. Overall, I am very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them.

Incredible value
I traded my Rancho 4000 for these per web recos. The stock Ranchos are too harsh for my liking, but I guess they look good. My Silverado 2017 was brand new, barely with a few thousand miles. I just bought this second set at 100M miles, many done in rally quality dirt roads. I'm still amazed they have lasted so long.Special mention must be made to the leveling feature of the front shocks. A simple and reliable mod that adds to the pickup's awesome looks. Just remember to order the 5100's with the leveling feature. I recommend the top notch for maximum height increase.
