Pros1) next best thing to having a portable tap in the forest.2) Gravity fed purification process is much better than squeezing a plastic bag.3) holds a sizeable amount of water which reduces trips to the river.4) compact and lightweight when hiking. Especially given the functionality it brings.5) feels very durable and works well no hiccups so far.Cons1) if the river is low on water involves a bit of strategy to get water in the bag.2) the tap on the hose squeezes the hose itself it’s not an issue now but it may lead to a leaks after many uses.In summary.Very happy with this purchase this is going to be a mandatory item on any hike I go on in future.

Easy to use easy to carry great for travel and emergency everyone should have one if not two

This is a very versatile water filter system. There are many options available to use it. I used it to filter some water from a trough I fill for deer to drink from. I have a game cam placed to watch what drinks from the trough. I had some pictures of a raccoon taking a dip in in too. Took a little nerve but I went out and got a cup of water from it and ran it thru the filter. Gulp. But it tasted just like normal water and that was a week ago and am still doing fine. I can personally attest to the ability of this filter to purify waters

Filters water effectively and without the aftertaste of the plastic bag like some water filter systems have. I have filtered water for six months strait and have never had any issues. Good buy for the money.

If you’re using this for camping, I’m sure it’s great.But the water tastes like plastic after being filtered.Others have complained about the smell and in fact there’s something about the smell on the packaging.The packaging indicates that you need to backwash the filter after each use.This makes sense. But there aren’t good instructions for what a quote “backwash is.There are instructions about blowing through the mouthpiece to empty the filter. But it does not refer to that as backwashing.It is not easy or intuitive to see if water poured through the mouthpiece actually, backwash is the filter.So I followed the blowing procedure and I wash the outside of the filter. But is it actually backwashed?My intended uses for travel, not camping or hiking. Frankly, I want the water taste to be pristine like I get out of my gravity fits ceramic filter.Time will tell if I use this or find another solution.
