Yup, Bobbex Actually Works!
For years, I have been successfully using the 32 oz. Bobbex standard spray bottle of premix. Yes, this stuff really does work and it is one of the few deer repellents that actually does (see my previous review for the 32 oz. Bobbex sprayer). This year, we planted additional "deer candy" plants, so I thought I'd try this larger 48 oz. pump sprayer. Same repellent, but with a large and easy to use pump sprayer... and it is a bit more economical. Once the pump bottle is fully pressurized (about 20 pumps), it covers a large area with just a gentle squeeze of the trigger. With a capacity of 48 ounces, this sprayer is certainly easier to use -- and without the need to constantly pump the spray trigger as with the original applicator.Great product, easy to use 48 oz. sprayer, and it remains effective for about one month as advertised. My only comment is that we must be judicious when using this larger pump sprayer. It is easy to use WAY too much repellent when applying. The first time I used this convenient new sprayer, I didn't pay much attention and my first application went through nearly half the bottle. Oops! Now, I just apply only the needed amount. Frankly, this new pump bottle is a genuine improvement in convenience. When I'm paying attention, there is no change in the amount I use compared to the typical 32 oz. squeeze-trigger sprayer.Due to our current higher useage on more deer candy plants, I routinely use this larger 48 oz. pump sprayer. These days, I refill it with the 64 oz. bottle of Bobbex concentrate (significant savings). The concentrate requires a bit of mixing in the sprayer bottle, but this is not really much of an inconvenience. If you need to use a lot of this product through the year, the savings with the concentrate is considerable. Bobbex is an effective and highly recommended product and this new 48 oz. sprayer is terrific. Hope this is helpful information.

It works with Western Blacktail deer!
I don't know about larger whitetail or antelope, but I live in an area with a very high population of western blacktail deer. They were destroying every flowering shrub and green shoot on my property outside of a secure physical barrier.I tried Bobex and the blacktail haven't touched the affected plants again. How do I know it's the Bobex? I missed spraying a few shrubs and they were absolutely devoured.I won't lie, the smell is just awful and pungent. I won't use this on roses or any flower I may want to cut and bring inside. Did I accidentally spray my bare leg with this? Yes. Yes I did. Thankfully an immediate hose-off and then shower remedied that, but that goes to show that a re-application is necessary after a rain shower or overhead watering. All that said, the stench is *why* it works. So if you can stomach it, it's 100% worth it.Very glad for this product - my landscaping is colorful, green and healthy when it wouldn't be otherwise.

So far so good
The bobbex product appears to be deterring our voracious deer population from eating lillies and hostas for the last 3 weeks. It is now spring here, so the deer do have plenty of other food sources. So Bobbex definitely seems good and the effect does last through rain. However, this sprayer system is not good. I can't stop the flow once the container is pressurized, and even when the pressure is released, the container keeps dribbling, so that quite a bit of liquid is wasted. Will use my own spray applicator in future.

Excellent at keeping deer away
Bobbex is a wonderful product to spray on hostas, even young tree branches, to keep deer from chewing them. It does not smell good, but only for a short time and then it's fine and works for two weeks before I have to do it again. With this shipment, I never received it and have a hunch that it broke during shipment. At one of the intermediate warehouses. I received a notice that it had been damaged during shipping and was being returned to Amazon. I would imagine that the warehouse smelled awful.I bought one of these four years ago and it worked perfectly. After that I have bought the quart bottles of concentrate. My intent with this purchase was to refill it using my bottles of concentrate because I'd recently had bad luck with my sprayer.

Smell You Later!
A few other reviews have mentioned the bad smell, but I don't think they highlight it enough. I put this on the plants tonight, and -- my fault, the number one ingredient is putrescent eggs -- the smell was unbelievably, indescribably bad. My kids playing in the yard maybe 200 feet away with barely a breeze smelled it within minutes and started gagging. (Good news, it got them in for bedtime.)Does it work? How could it not? Just from putting it on plants, I don't want to eat -- not the plants I sprayed it on, but any food, maybe ever again. (Amazon might consider cross listing this product under "Dieting Aids." Other things Amazon might want to do is recommend Vick's Vapo rub or something else under your nose -- like in Silence of the Lambs when they find the dead bodies.)So three stars -- if you want to be absolutely sure deer don't eat your plants, this has to be like the "scorched earth" of deer sprays. I have used pleasant, mint-smelling sprays in the past, though, that worked pretty well. (I didn't realize there were different "technologies" when I ordered this -- again, my fault.) I've ordered one of those again, and will use that going forward. In the meantime, I'm going to drink some mint tea and try to recover from the mild nausea...
