KD702 Dual Swing Gate Opener - AC Powered

Only installed these today so I have some tidying up to do to make things look neater... but I couldn't help myself to make a review already. I am very impressed with this kit. It seems robust and of high quality. It took me around 4 hours on my own to install and get it adjusted perfectly with trial and error so that it opens/closes nice and smooth into its final position. I have installed it in "push to open" mode. From other video reviews I have seen, it seems a lot of people have installed it with a long soft open and almost no soft stop. In my opinion, this works best with a relatively fast start (in my case I chose 1 second) and a softer stopping time of around 3 seconds. This enables the gates to open nice and swiftly, but comes to a nice gentle stop when they reach the end position. In many of the videos it shows the gates getting to their final position at full speed, resulting in gate whiplash. My advice to anyone installing this is to take your time with the adjustments of the control board and especially read the instructions thoroughly (numbers 10 and 11 in the manual, which is for the "soft start" and "fast running period" settings), until you get it perfect for your gates. I probably spent 1 hour making slight adjustments. This should prolong the lifespan of the unit as it results in less strain on the brackets when installed perfectly. Some things to take note of during installation: 1) The second mechanism comes with a separate wire extension so you will need a waterproof junction box to house the wire connections. This is straight forward to do, you just need to connect the corresponding wires with wire connectors (not provided). I don't know why they didn't just put 1 of the arms with the long cable from factory. A minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. 2) I would get some silicone lubricant to spray on the arms once installed. I found one of the arms was sticking slightly, even though it was perfectly level. The lubricant fixed this. 3) I also purchased the wifi module, however it is relatively limited in it's functionality because it does not know if the gates are in the open or closed position. It just acts like a switch to operate the gate. This is fine for my needs so that I can remotely open or close the gates if I am not at home. However, the scheduling option would not function correctly. For example if I wanted the gates to open and 8am and close at 10pm, I could set this and it would operate the gates. However, if the gate was already open at 8am, it would end up closing it! As the module doesn't know what position the gate is in. I have also purchased the wired switch and the photocell sensor and will install these in the next few days. Overall, I am very happy as it has turned my old wooden gates that were originally wobbling in a sorry state of repair and after reinforcing them and adding the Topens gate opener, it has turned them into a luxurious looking entrance to the drive for a relatively inexpensive cost.

These are shockingly good! I was not expecting much due to the price, but how wrong I was. The customer service is amazing with a dedicated person that takes on your account from when you register the warranty. The quality is much better than expected too. I got these to replace an aging set of Liftmaster openers and they were easier to build up, easier to adjust and much quieter than my Liftmaster ones. The control box is great quality and easy to wire up too, everything feels secure and robust. I transferred my phone app control board straight in and it works a treat. I would recommend these kits, they are great value for money.

I bought this item in 2022. Great product, easy to install and maintain and super customer support. I upgraded my system and added a lock which in my case required an updated pcb. I had great support and help from Bella at Topens who is very knowledgeable and helpful and really went out of her way to support during the whole process. Highly recommended.

Great bit kit when you get your head around fitting it all. read the manual three times then go for it. They open fast and close fast with slow start fully programable you get everything in the box. At a great price it even vines with two remotes signal light and beam censors

Seems sturdy enough (good but not fantastic but for the money v.good), easy to install, programming options good. Wish could keep open on press of button but can block photo cells, or use key but means keep key handy I have 2 6' 5 bar gates, move quick enough, faster than some I used. so far close almost perfectly aligned each time once the screw adjustment set. Does not need stop (I might add) seems firmly in place, not tried forcing of course so not sure how strong. fairly sure you can program to stay open/closed but think auto close is best & adjust time delay leads me on to next investigation - Have now added PD132 induction loop car sensor, cheap (china!) amazon & wire, think £50 the two, dug in shingle drive, SO much better now, long drive, people can get out without me having to wait/watch. Caution if you do, think it through. As dumb switch, if you keyfob open then drive through will start to close on you as you drive over. All fine as long as don't use keyfob OUT. IN is fine as actually closes behind you. Really good addition is a wifi adapter, I got a HINMAY Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, Wireless WiFi .. No idea who they are but sure others are similar but for £26 well worth it Tuya app or smartlife so can control from phones. In my case blip nearly works 40+m but app or alexa guaranteed'ish. Alexa will then work with this. "Gate" or whatever its named but use "ON" (as if a switch), off not work. Commands not 100% obvious as tends to cycle open, close or stop if mid way. Does not really have an open or close just opposite to what was last done but with the attached sensor is more smart. OEM keypad is fine, has to be 6 digits which is OK, watch range, says 5-10m. mine would not work at 4.5m but if pull radio wire in main CPU out (as advised) & straighten I then got 6-7m which was fine for me. Below is of no use to 99.9% of people but just to say it can be done & if that way inclined. I am currently programming via the Tuya API to work (& does) from a click on my PC also blue iris (camera recording software) can then send a command to open or close, Now using blue iris I have number plate recognition & can auto open gate. Not for the faint hearted & BI is a paid app (don't think can get a free one)
