Honeywell Home THP2400A1027W White Coverplate Assembly

I have had a honeywell programmable thermostat for about 10 years now..it served me well and replaced an old mercury White-Rodgers thermostat. That old thermostat was huge but luckily the Honeywell thermostat was pretty big too..fast forward 10 years and Santa dropped off a Honeywell Smart thermostat (RTH9585WF1004) for me..I was shocked at how small it was when I opened the box..pictures made it look bigger. So after mounting the thermostat it bothered me to see the other old mounting holes and mismatched paint. I did a Google search to see what my options were and came across people mentioning a coverplate. A quickly search on Amazon led me here. Of course it didn't mention my model thermostat but it looked like the right size but luckily the other reviews calmed my doubts. My only gripe is that I can't seem to find the grey version. Nothing wrong with white but I feel like grey would've looked better.Nonetheless the package comes with two sizes. For me the small was big enough to cover the old paint and mountings holes but the other bigger plate should cover all but the most extreme cases. Nonetheless great cover. If you're in doubt about what lies under your old thermostat I would go ahead and order this along with your smart thermostat. Better to have it than not have it because if you end up needing it that means ordering it, waiting on it and then installing it which means cutting the power, yanking the newly installed thermostat back off the wall, unhooking all the wires and unscrewing the mounting plate and then adding the coverplate, lining up the mounting plate on the coverplate and reattaching everything. Not a hard job but more work than necessary when you can just add the plate when you install your new thermostat the first time. Even if it isn't needed it looks good. I'm not sure why it isn't included in the box with the thermostat. I believe the T series thermostats come with coverplates so come on Honeywell throw them in the box for ALL of your smart thermostats.Ignore the anchors in my pic. Those are the remnants of a locking thermostat cover that was installed with the old mercury thermostat. Nothing would cover those since the cover was so big. But all the other imperfections and mismatches paint were covered perfectly by the coverplate making it all look neater even with the remaining anchors showing

The package arrived with 2 cover plates of different size. I had to use the larger of the two to cover up a multitude of defects and that option saved the day - it looks perfect. Thank you.

So far, been running in my house for a month. The unit looks good and works perfectly. Zero issues. This is an excellent choice for a low cost and easy to install upgrade. The app works great and from anywhere. Some people complained that the touchscreen wasn't very responsive..... It is responsive but I could be better. I'd guess I have about an 85% success rate of selecting a feature from the touch screen. But hey, if it's a problem, the app works great. This is a good unit to purchase.

I ordered this because I didn’t think I needed to order the thermostat that included it but when I tried to install it, I did indeed need the wall plate. I ordered it and even with Prime it said a week to deliver. It did come in a day early so that was nice, but the larger size wall plate was cracked. Luckily it came with two and the smaller one was just big enough for what I needed to cover. If you look at the second photo you can see the paint difference right above it. The larger one would have covered it completely but again it was cracked. It’s not enough to bother me or my wife so we just used the smaller one. 4 stars for cracked plate, otherwise no issues. I’m sure I could’ve had it replaced if need be, but that would have been inconvenient as I already waited an extra week for it.

THis plate was specific to my Thermostat. Covered marks on the wall made by the builder. Perfect fit!!!!

I needed a backplate because my previous thermostat was a bit bigger than the new one. This worked perfectly and looks good. Costs a lot for a piece of plastic, but it does work as advertised.

Super easy to install, especially if you have a box in the wall. You'll see in these pictures how the new thermostat was smaller than the old, leaving the old, dark paint color visible. There are two different sized plates included, I used the smaller one.To install:Hold the plate in place, make sure it covers everything you need it to. If not, use the larger plate.Put the rear thermostat mounting plate on topInsert the screwsLevel the outer plate **AND**Level the thermostat plate. There is enough wiggle room you need to level both.Tighten the screwsPut the thermostat onThat's it!An easy job that makes a big difference in appearance.

It was fine easy to install.

I had to change my thermostat in my condo since it wasn't working and when I pulled off the old one I noticed that the wiring was connected to an electrical box and not just threaded through a hole. I was stumped on how to put my new one on as it's a totally different size. Looked on youtube and there was a mention of using electrical wall plates, great idea! So I went and got a couple and noticed that while it worked it wasn't visibly pleasing to look at since the screw were showing and the thermostat wasn't securely held. So, looking in amazon I noticed this honeywell plate, crossing my fingers that it would fit my new one. Yes, it's a little pricey for just plastic but it comes with 2 sizes of wall plates and mounting bracket for the electrical box. Seriously took 5 mins to get everything installed and looks good.

This Thermostat cover, helps installing the Honeywell Thermostat on a standard electric box. It has two white plates that easily masks the wall imperfections after removing the original device. No need for painting.

There are two plates included. One that is about a half inch larger on all sides of the Honeywell RTH9585. The second plate is much larger. The smaller one was big enough. The thermostat does not fit quite perfect on the bracket, but nothing that affects look or function.

Great product, not exactly as WHITE as all the other white products I have, and yet....it is very good....
