Great little device that makes it easy to prevent the window from being opened to far by pets or kids. Super easy to install and a simple design with no drilling required.

Why did you choose this product over others?: This product looked sturdy and safe but also so easy to install. No drilling holes in the window frame, just choose your desired gap opening and stick to the frame. All I needed was a pencil to mark where to place the fixings and to make sure I can close the window with the fixings on. All done in a matter of minutes. And I like the ease of being able to fully open the window by just a press of a button and releasing the slide. I purchased these fixings for my kitten so she cannot get out of the house if I leave a window open upstairs.

We use them to stop our cats escaping on to a busy street. Truth be told, the cats aren’t that interested in escaping. However, these provide amazing peace of mind and allow us to ventilate the house without fear of them escaping. I even used them for the Velux windows in our attic!! Honestly, they are great. Give them a go. You can even drill them in rather than using the 3M tape if you prefer. If I had to find fault, I do think they’re a bit pricey for what is fundamentally a bit of plastic and some 3M adhesive. It’s fine if you only want one or two but, when you want to do a whole house (like us), then it can really add up! We have been buying them a couple of units at a time as a result. We recently inherited my grandparents’ former house which we are incredibly grateful for but there are 27 window openings throughout the house so, rather than pay £270 in one chunk, we’ve been doing it bit by bit. Other than the price being slightly on the high side these are still a really good purchase.

Absolutely fantastic product. I bought these to stop my small dog (Chihuahua type) from pushing the windows open, and escaping. It also stops the windows blowing open, in windy conditions (a bonus for me, living in windy Lincolnshire), so no more sprained hinges. It opens enough to get a breeze through, but not enough for small pets or children to escape through. If you need to open the window further, just simply unclip them, by using the buttons on the small (frame side) part, then click back into place to use as the safety latch. Very easy to put together and install, which only takes about 30 seconds. Very strong adhesive, but also has screw holes, just in case. I've seen a review that says the instructions are too small, but there is a video of it, in the description, for you to see. Just click through the pictures and the video is at the end. Very, very happy with this product and can highly recommend it. I will be buying a couple more for the other windows in the room.

I bought the window lock because I live on the second floor of an apartment complex, I wanted to open the windows without the fear of my cats jumping out. The lock itself is very easy to put together, and the sticky adhesive pads are strong. I was sceptical due to the windows in the pictures all being horizontal but decided to try it on the vertical anyways. I did manage to make it work, the gap itself would have been open larger, but due to the way you position it, you can make the gap smaller, and or the shape of your window. It works for the windows in the adverts but you can work around it for others. Good, strong product that my escape artist cats haven't been able to crack.

This works great. I am using it on inward opening patio doors and it still works perfectly, once I had figured out exactly where to put it by trial and error. The 3 stars are because the instructions are tiny. Small photos and even smaller text meant that I couldn't see them clearly. I had previously bought a 1st device and because of the poor instructions I ended up sticking the smaller piece too far away from the edge of the door frame, and that meant that the door wouldn't open properly as the device arm jammed against it. It was very difficult to take the device off again, the glue pads were destroyed in the process, and contrary to other reviews, there are no spare glue pads included in the pack. I ended up binning the 1st device and had to buy this 2nd device, which (having learned through my mistakes) I installed correctly and is now working perfectly. My suggestion is larger, clearer instructions, and also expand the instructions to include how to install the device on inward opening windows and doors.

I recently installed the child lock window mechanism, and it has given me such peace of mind. The installation was straightforward, and the lock itself is sturdy and well-made. It’s easy to use but secure enough that children can’t open the windows on their own, which is exactly what I was looking for. The design is subtle and doesn’t affect the overall appearance of the window, so it blends in nicely. If you're a parent looking for a simple and effective way to childproof your windows, I highly recommend this product.

I brought these window restrictors to keep my kitten in, they have done exactly this, and allowing us to get some cool air in the house during the hot months, they are so easy to fit and are self adhesive so no drilling required, you can unlatch them to open the windows fully too, I have added these to list of the windows in my house now, these would be great as a safety measure for children too
