Wild Horses of the West

Was searching for reference photos of wild horses for a mural I will be doing at a ranch. Was important they are wild due to my activism in support of keeping them free on the range and stopping their roundups. This book didn’t disappoint!

Very beautiful book!

I purchased this book for my 93 year old dad who has dementia and loves horses. He loves just looking at the photos of the horses in the book. It was the perfect book for my dad.

Jan Drake captures the wild nature of the Horses of the West Desert. Her photography captures the intimate moments as well as the intense and brutal moments. Her deep knowledge of these bands of horses provides an understanding of these beautiful animals and their natural environment.

Great book! Good size, thick pages with amazing wild horses photos and anecdotal stories of the author. Also very informative without being an encyclopedia.Really a nice book to read and enjoy, and absolutely beautiful for a coffee table as well. Would recommend to any horse lover.

This book is full of incredibly beautiful photos of wild horses in the UT/WY area. The photographer has included a great deal of additional detail about the horses and their behavior. Highly recommend for any horse lover!

We have many books with beautiful pictures of horses bought for our special needs daughter. But this book has by far the most amazing photographs showing the spirit and life of the North American wild horse. The stories included about specific horses show the great love and respect that the author/photographer has for these horses.

The book is a beautiful piece of art bound on many pages. The photos of the wild horses are amazing and the background information that Jan Drake provides made the pictures come to life. We have gifted two and will be buying another two for Christmas gifts.
