Unless you need a life vest on a boat, this is an excellent swim aid we discovered at our pool, helps in grasping swimming techniques, gives comfort to those nervous in water w/o restricting their upper body movement (which they need to learn to swim), has helped numerous kids jump off the diving board w/o the vest hitting their chin on impact and for shoreline or dock swimming it's a good peace of mind for those still learning swimmers.

Belt is great for water jogging. The belt is slim and does not hinder your movements in the water.
