Works Perfectly 100%... With Yamaha TSR-7850. No Issues...
Update 2020.06.05I no longer, ever use the remote that came with the YamahaTSR-7850 receiver.I have Samsung Note 8 ( Android ) phone and downloaded the Yamaha AV Controller app. I setup Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver to access wireless wifi in our house and i can control every feature of Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver from my phone using Yamaha TSR-7850 AV Controller App...So in truth, there is no need for IR Receiver / Emitter as I can communicate with Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver from anywhere in the house or even outside the house so long as I have access to wireless wifi in my house...I can also stream music from my phone & play on Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver by using bluetooth to connect to Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver as audio device...Though I Haven't tried it, i can supposedly connect to music media napster or spotify and play music from my account directly on Receiver...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Works Perfectly 100%... With Yamaha TSR-7850. No Issues...Did lots of research. Read lots of reviews.Could not find any IR receiver that I could purchase that I could plug into the " Remote In " port on rear of receiver that would work on TSR-7850...There are a lot of different brands, styles & manufacturers of IR Receivers / Emitters ( IR Repeater )...Practically none of them work with Yamaha TSR-7850...This HIGHROCK IR Hidden Infrared Remote Extender Receiver Emitter Repeater System (with Power Adapter ), works perfectly & flawlessly without any issues...I'm going to order another one after completing this review...I did not use adhesive to place Emitter over Eye of IR Receiver...Instead I placed the Emitter below general area where Eye of IR is & figured IR beam from Emitter would be wide enough for the IR Eye on YamahaTSR-7850 to see it, and it did...I like the fact that the Receiver blinks red whenever I send command ( touch button ) from remote...And the IR Receiver is strong & has pretty wide view, plus IR from TSR-7850 remote probably bounces off walls, ceilings, etc...Because i can practically point TSR-7850 remote in any direction, straight up at ceiling, point at any wall ( even in opposite direction of receiver ) and commands still get sent...Highly Recommend...See pics

This IR repeater does a pretty good job of relaying my Direct TV remote signal ...
This IR repeater does a pretty good job of relaying my Direct TV remote signal to my wireless gene mini client. I had to change to a IR signal from the RF because I use a slingbox and everything is stored behind my wall-mounted TV. When using the Direct TV remote, I will say that I have to press the keys much slower than if there were no repeater in place, or else risk losing characters. I do like that the LED indicator on the receiver will turn red to let you know that it is, indeed, receiving the signal and passing it along. Part of the issue is that Direct TV's hardware is basically garbage these days, so you really don't know how much of the problem can be blamed on the repeater. After going back and forth on various configurations, the Highrock repeater is the best I can do for the money I wanted to spend to solve my problem.

Simple, cheap and reliable
I needed to control a Directv box in another room and this remote extender worked beautifully. I cut the small transmitter wire and soldered in an extra 30-ft section of 18 gauge speaker wire to reach across the attic and down a wall. The extra length did not affect performance at all. Remote signals are still instantaneous and reliable. This setup works much better than the RF remote / antenna option Directv sells for its H25 boxes. I have the RF package on another receiver and it only works on the first button press about half the time. Sometimes I look like a lifeguard doing semaphore trying to find a position the remote will work in.I am using the supplied USB power supply but you can also plug it into any available USB port (TV, cable box, DVR, etc.). If I had to guess what part of the system will be the first to fail, it would probably be the power supply. Fortunately, just about everyone has a drawer full of these things to replace it.Tip: The transmitter LED is very small and designed to stick directly to the sensor on whatever device you are trying to remote control. Don't expect it to reliably control a whole cabinet's worth of AV equipment. There are multiple sensor head versions available for this.

Three Stars
Works well, the transmitter part is only about 10 feet. Wish it was longer.

Made my TV better
Hook up was simple. Works perfectly (and makes my TV work better). My TV is really designed to be mounted as the built-in IR receiver is on the bottom and angles downward. So, while on its stand, it was very difficult to get the TV to receive the remote signals. When turning the volume up/down, it would stall and I'd have to wave my remote around or press the button again and again until it changed again. I installed the extender on the top corner of the TV and it works great no matter where I point the remote as long as it's towards the TV. Volume control is super smooth now... the way you would expect it to be.Also, we love the red light that blinks to show that the IR signal was received. I actually had a glitch in my remote and the red light was blinking WAY faster than it was when it was working properly. So, I was able to quickly diagnose my remote glitch, fix it, then verify it was working properly again by the red light on the extender blinking at a normal speed.

Solved an Annoying Problem
After a week of use it is doing exactly what I wanted. My Sony sound system has an unusually narrow range for reception of IR signals; this renders the remotes useless in most of the combined kitchen/dining/living room. When tested in an ideal location (but ugly due to exposure) it was amazing and could receive signals bounced off the window on the opposite wall. When mounted on a discreet location, it is still very good and accomplished what I wanted. The only possible flaw is that if you allow the receiving device to get both the original signal from the remote AND the relayed signal, they can interfere with each other. The simple fix is to commit to adhering the relay diode directly over the receiver on the unit you want controlled.

does not come with au power adapter
the fact you pay extra for a power adapter from an au seller and get a us power adapter that may as well go in the bin is disssapointing
