New Replacement bt youview Remote Control for humax freesat remote control replacement - RM-I08U/DTR-T1000/DTR-1010/HB- 1000S/HDR-2000T

I wasn't expecting great things for this price but I couldn't find an original controller for my Humax satellite box anywhere so it was worth a try. There was a long list of codes for different manufacturers and Humax wasn't even on there so I thought I would have to use the instructions for unlisted systems (which looked a bit time consuming). However, I couldn't believe that it worked with my Humax box as soon as I put the batteries in. No need for any codes - it just worked straight away! Absolutely delighted!. The remote is pretty lightweight compared to the original and some of the buttons are different but it works, which is the important bit!

Works straight out of the box (once batteries installed!). Only gripe is that unlike the original, some of the buttons stick down occasionally, leading to strange results.

Works, not as solid as original

This is supposed to be a replacement for a Humax Youview remote controller, but it fails on two main points. 1) it is very cheaply made so that the buttons keep sticking in when you press them, which leads to unpredictable results when trying to use the controller. 2) The TV function on the remote which is supposed to be able to control your TV instead of the Youview box simply does not work as specified by Humax for their controller. The coding process by which you match the controller to your specific TV does not work as specified by Humax, and there are no instructions supplied with this controller for an alternative method of selecting which TV you have. I could not make this controller work with my TV. The remote works to control the Youview box if you can press the buttons carefully to avoid them sticking in when pressed, but it is useless in its secondary role as a TV remote. Because of this, I would not recommend this product.

What's not to like for my Humax T 1000. Installed 2 aaa batteries and remote control worked the Humax perfectly with NO issues without messing about re-programming this remote. Needless to say i was delighted about that. OK it feels a bit lighter than the original remote and the plastic is not very shiny as the original remote but it does everything the same as the original remote. Note to all freeview users wth the T0000 same item as mine will NOT be able to use most of the apps like BBC iplayer etc wil not work from February 28th 2024 but will still be able to record freeview TV.

PRO: * It controls your Humax in the same way, and as well the original controller did. * It's light in the hand, with a slightly rough feel to the underside that means it's less likely to slip off a smooth surface. * It's far less expensive than a genuine Humax replacement. MEH: * The supplied batteries don't last very long. Expect to replace them in a couple of months with decent alkalines. The ones we used have kept going ever since, so it's not chewing its way through batteries, it just comes with cheap ones. CON: * There's a design fault that means the rubber buttons can get hooked under the outer case if you press firmly and forward - easy to do with the lower buttons. That can mean screaming through menu entries or - worst case - the Del button wiping out a whole load of your recordings before you stop it. I can think of several engineering solutions that would have prevented that. I guess you gets what you pays for.
