An improved version of "Go Away Big Green Monster"
Of all the monster books in the series, this is most like the original "Go Away Big Green Monster" (GABGM). In fact, it's practically identical but in my opinion improved and more fitting for toddlers and younger children. Here are the improvements:-- It's more compact and easier to hold to read one-on-one to your toddler-- There are no "dongles" hanging out. In GABGM, my daughter has ripped out the Big Green Monster's nose several times. I've had to retape many pages repeatedly and had to buy a new one. This is designed much better, so there's nothing tempting your toddler to rip out.-- There are stars appearing on this one (my daughter love stars)-- This one focuses less on fear and empowerment and more on discovery and saying good night to the little monster. If you've never read "Go Away Big Green Monster," then I would describe this book as a wonderful book which fascinates my 2 1/2 year old daughter as each page builds the face more and more, and then have her watch it disappear as she says good night. GABGM itself is a great book which opens up an opportunity for your child to learn about fear and self-empowerment to surmount that fear. Both also give an opportunity for your child to learn about parts of the face.

Wonderful book
This was a wonderful book to read to my class. They loved using the mask to share what made them scared, happy, sad..etc. They love bringing it out from time to time to use the masks to share their feelings.

For fans of Go Away Big Green Monster
My two year old's second favorite book. Second only to Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberly as well.Same style as Go Away Big Green Monster, with die cut pages. The fun glittery pages are cute and we love seeing the little green monster develop. In our house these two titles are the only ones that will keep our super active 2 year old sitting for any period of time. It worked wonders for him at church where he normally screams the entire time. No other book has distracted him enough while still allowing him to enjoy parts of the service (music) that he likes.

My Sons favorite book ever!
My 2 year old loves this book. He doesn’t even want to go to bed with saying Nighty Night to little monster. We had it checked out from the library and eventually just had to buy it on here because my son was upset we took it back. The Big Green Monster book is fun too but he likes this better because it’s small enough for him to hold and turn pages on his own. And little monster is way cuter than big monster. She’s pretty adorable.

Good sequel
Great book, kids love it, but not as much as or for as long as the original "go away, scary green monster" title from the same author

so it definitely was a cool surprise as we turned the page from having one ...
My daughter loves "Go Away Green Monster" and this was an instant hit. As soon as she saw it, she wanted me to read it. The text is very similar to the other story, but it appears to be a younger monster with his one tooth and one squiggly hair. The stars and moon are holographic, so it definitely was a cool surprise as we turned the page from having one star showing to what you see on the cover. She continued to read the book to herself as she went to bed. Definitely a winner with the 2 1/2 year old pint sized crowd.
