If I could give this a 4.8 star I would. I only had 2 cons to this purchase. The first would be that I did not know that it could only support up to 128gb storage until I received it, which I bought a 256gb at the same time that I now do not need lol. That information, I feel, wasn’t very easy to find. Would have saved me the money had I known.The second con is that the app is sometimes buggy, but for the most part it’s comprehensive and works great.I use this camera to view my sleep behaviors so I can safely say the night vision is great. The video quality is blurry sometimes but mostly good. It has a large field of view and it was easy to mount. Audio is good, it’s hard to tell since I keep a fan on while I sleep so I can’t hear what I say when I talk, but that’s alright for my situation.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this camera for the continuous recording and the motion detection. This camera has helped me provide genuine evidence of my REM sleep disorder.

Currently I have 18 cameras running on my property at all times. I started with the old style, wired surveillance, but not long ago I dipped my toes into the Wifi smart cameras world with the Wyze cam. Cheap, did neat things, and easy to make work. The cheap showed in the not great quality in video, audio, connection, reliability, etc. So, when this Eufy Camera came scrolling past one day, I looked into it.As Eufy in an Anker brand, that comes with a sense of trust, as Anker is a proven great quality brand. It cost more than the Wyze camera, but not exceedingly so. The features it claimed to have were similar and often slightly better than the Wyze. I decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did.The video quality is like night and day. The difference between Eufy and Wyze is like comparing Blu ray to VHS. The night vision is clear as a bell and farther reaching. The events record entirely, rather than just a 12 second clip. It has an alarm feature that you can use when you're away, so if it triggers it makes a ton of noise. The person detection is accurate, and is free. Free is important, because when Wyze started, they said the person detection was free, but due to things going downhill with their AI partner, they have to start charging for it. While I understand why, I can't get on board with paying for a feature. I will pay for cloud storage, but I don't like the idea of paying for a feature. The Eufy has pet detection, so it can tell the difference between Humans, Pets, and just general motion, so you can tell it to not notify you of your pets movements to lower the superfluous motion notifications when it's running.Just all in all it's pretty great as a standalone camera, with tons of features packed in. I barely scratched how many there are in this. However, it does come with a decently sized flaw. It's smart assistant integrations are missing a big chunk of access, and that breaks my routine.So, in order to mitigate notifications when I want them, I have routines setup for my surveillance so that I can tell Google, say, I'll be right back, and it does a routine that sets the lights, TVs, stereos, computers, etc all to stand by/off, and sets all the controllable cameras to the "armed" modes. Notifications for motion, person detection, etc. Wyze handled this swimmingly, because you can just use IFTTT triggers to set a voice command to switch "Modes". One mode set to disarmed, one to armed, so when I am home and awake, I won't be bombarded by the various events triggered by us being home, but when we're gone or in bed, I get them all. Eufy on the other hand has no connections to outside services like IFTTT, Google Assistant, Homekit, or Alexa that allow it to switch the modes. So I have to rely on manually switching all of the cameras modes to away when we leave, and rely on scheduling the modes for bedtime and morning shut off. I can't use the Geofencing option, because I can't use the scheduling for bedtime. Basically, I have to choose which of the two modes to use, which ends up just being me manually having to switch each camera to away when we go places, which is annoying.That discrepancy is what loses the star on the overall rating. The other lost stars are mostly just because it is still a budget camera, and they can only get so good. So motion triggers happen when there is no motion, but it doesn't trigger human or pet incorrectly. Picture quality is great, but compared to higher end cameras like the Nest cameras, they aren't the top tier 5 star best.I would definitely recommend these cameras as the best middle of the road surveillance cameras, as well as the handful of other Eufy brand devices we own now.

NOTE: I have been using WyzeCams for almost 2 years now, so my review will be heavily revolving around that comparison.I was looking to upgrade due to the fact that Wyze - against numerous customer requests - has zero intentions of making their cameras compatible with Apple HomeKit. Also, I was over dealing with all the little quirks that came with using WyzeCams (random disconnections, tiny bugs with every firmware update etc.), I don’t need special face detection or pet detection features - for my usage all really I need is streaming video and motion notifications. After looking into what my options were I decided to try the Eufy 2k Indoor Camera since it is HomeKit compatible.The 2K camera is made of plastic, but it has a better finish to it compared to other cameras, with a simple, understated but nice looking modern design. Installing the 2k camera is like most others; inside the package you get the camera, a micro USB cables and a standard USB AC power supply. Installation hardware is included, and I like how the camera features a detachable base plate that makes positioning the camera much easier if it’s being wall-mounted. After installing the camera, I downloaded the Eufy security app from the App Store and fired it up.First of all, pairing the 2k camera within the Eufy app literally took seconds to do, and I was up and running in no time. Second (and more importantly) I could see that the Eufy's 2k video quality was much, much clearer than WyzeCams lower-quality HD video. The "live view" video streaming on the 2k was crisp, smooth and never choppy (something that anyone who has used Wyzecams will tell you does happen regularly). Response was quick as well, whenever I went into the camera view it connected with no problem. I have the 2k camera in the exact same location as a WyzeCam that would on occasion take 5-10 seconds to connect to. Speaking of the Eufy app, it has a similar layout when compared to the Wyze app so learning my way around didn't take much time to get used to. I did notice though that when compared to the Wyze app interface, the Eufy app felt much more polished and complete.The best features though for me so far are related to Apple's HomeKit and the Home app. Before, I had to open the Home app to check the status or control any of my smart home products (lights, fans, etc.) and then open the Wyze app separately to check all the Wyze cameras. Because the Eufy 2k Indoor camera is HomeKit compatible, I could now see the camera's live feed directly from the Home app! Also, because the Eufy 2k works with Apple's HomeKit Secure Video, I know all of my video footage is more secure and stored privately. Honestly, I didn't realize how much of an issue having to open multiple apps was until I had the means to view and control everything within one central app on my phone, and HomeKit compatibility makes this possible.So if you're looking for a HomeKit compatible camera that has excellent features, excellent video quality, and effortless setup, the Eufy 2k indoor camera is an awesome choice. Granted, I am still not through trying out all the other features this camera has (person or pet detection, etc.) but as of this writing, I am already a happy customer. I actually went and ordered a second Eufy 2k Indoor camera to replace my other WyzeCam V2, and I'm already planning on buying their 2K Indoor Cam Pan & Tilt cameras to possibly replace my WyzeCam Pans. As much as I liked the low cost and decent features that Wyze cameras gave me, upgrading to the Eufy 2k cameras was an eye-opening experience and a great choice after all. They are only marginally more expensive than Wyzecams but well worth the price!

However, we register all defects and evaluate them statistically. These statistics enable us to identify any increased defect rates or concentrated product problems, so thank you very much for letting us know about your product."Be warned, small issues from the start with the entire eufy system only to have it breakdown after 2 years. And nothing can be done about it with customer service.DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM!UPDATE (09/29/2022):This eufy system has gone from bad to worse. Battery low, so cam 2c charged. Last charge hardly lasted long at all. Now camera, after fully charged, unable to play live video.Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Restarted wifi. Deleted device. Added device. Restarted homebase. Still no work! Deleted device. Now UNABLE TO ADD DEVICE! After multiple tries Still unable to add device. Restarted everything. Problems still occurring but past time period to initiate refund. Contacted Eufy customer support on numerous occasions who suggested different settings and system upgrades but errors still occurring even with various adjustment settings. Customer support responds with the same excuse that their tech team is working on the issues. Thought that it could possibly be the 2C cameras that were defective and, in one email, offered to send replacements. Then, in another reply, offered to send a Pan/Tilt indoor camera as a replacement. It was a nice offer, but the issues are with the outdoor 2C cameras and not with the indoor cameras at all. In one reply, customer support offered a $25 refund for the unsolved issues. $25?! That was insulting.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM!I cannot stress that enough. Poor system. Multiple false alarm issues. Dysfunctional Zone feature. Inconsistent notifications (sometimes it will capture a person, sometimes it won't). Faulty AI. Horrible customer support.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM!‐--------------------------------------THE GOOD:Camera has decent image quality. Set up fairly simple.Battery powered 2C camera will last a few months as long as AI does not filter out too many events.Will record and store events locally (no subscription fees).THE BAD:AI will detect numerous false detections (ex: shadows detected as human faces). No matter how you adjust the sensitivity or activity zones the system will give frequent false alarms of shadows presenting as a human. Very distracting. Also, how would you pay attention to a REAL alert when you are constantly bombarded with false alarms. The eufy system cries wolf a lot. So much, that you become reluctant to have the siren on at all.Activities Zones that are set up are useless. Basically, you get a set of colored rectangles on your app while eufy still detects outside of those zones (which also drains the battery). And the zones that are set up are inconsistent when detecting movement (same problem as other reviews). Sometimes you will get a notification and sometimes you won't. Adjusting the sensitivity level higher does not help with the inconsistent notifications. It does, however, help with catching more activity outside the established zone.Indoor cams require a micro SD card to record events. Otherwise it is just a camera. Would be better if the indoor cam could link up with the Homebase2 and store recordings there. Would also be better if the Homebase2 had a micro SD storage slot instead.Geofencing does not work at all for multiple users. Even with one person in the zone while one is out of the zone eufy will change the security system to "Away". Geofencing will also place a family member "out of the zone" even if that person hasn't left the zone all day. Geofencing is also inconsistent across different units. One indoor camera will report a different status than the home system (Homebase2). Have reported issue to eufy support. They have responded fairly quickly, however the system updates that were provided did not solve the problem. After reading the eufy forums, the Geofencing issue has been a problem for a long time and it has not been resolved.After weighing the GOOD vs the BAD, the eufy system does not perform well as a home security system and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. It will not provide adequate security protection.

Nov 2022 - Always trust Anker brand and Eufy series cameras are great. Bought a couple solo cam 2k devices to actually surveillance exterior areas by through window for entry door and balcony. I just placed them near the window and taped it to the base of the window.Motion sensor and night vision works great through the glass/window. Turn off night vision toggle on the app if using through window to avoid led light reflection from the camera. Motion sensing works based on change in pixels in selected area for motion sensing, hence works through the window. Eufy app is super simple for anyone young or older to easily set up, just scan the barcode on the device and you are mostly set automatically. Connecting to wifi router was straightforward.Again I use it for exterior monitoring from inside the house and this camera works great!! Very wide angle of coverage, very clear camera and colors are great as well.Separately got a 128 gb high endurance micro sd card for continuous recording, which will record 6 days of everything and then it rewrites, 6 day cycle.No subscription, one time purchase of camera and memory card. I am hoping to get a few years out of it with 24/7 plugged in. If you have been procrastinating the thought of home security like I was, this is the device to go for!!

After I had returned two different indoor security cameras for different reasons, I decided to give this Eufy Camera a try. I read some of the bad reviews after my purchase, and must say I don't really have any negatives on this camera. Although upon setting this camera up, there was one hiccup in which I wasn't able to verify my email in order to login to the app. However the Anker customer service was pretty good and they were able to manually send me an email in order for me to register and get logged into the Eufy Security App. It was a cinch to setup the camera through the App which takes about 5 minutes...I placed this camera on an indoor window ledge so it faces an outside main door to the house so I can keep an eye on packages being delivered and to see who's at the front door. The camera catches all motions even behind the window and doesn't miss!...The picture quality is great even without using the night vision...The App is so simple to use and has good features. One feature I like is that you can set detection preferences to human only, pet only and also all other motions. And you have the option to pickup sounds or not, as well a option to capture the sound of a baby crying. Once you get an alert, you can see the videos pretty quickly without much lag. I'm just glad that you do not need a subscription for this and that is why I purchased this camera! I'd like to buy another security camera to watch the inside of the house, and may buy another. And as always, Amazon shipped this quickly and in perfect condition...I recommend this for anyone who needs an a low cost indoor security camera.

Have been really impressed with this indoor security camera system. Despite being compact in size it produces good image quality, working well with the Eufy app. Been impressed with both the night vision as well as the motion detection being sharp and snappy.Pretty much does everything I want the only thing that I found lacking is the speaker that this camera has. So the microphone is clear, but the speaker itself is very quiet. This camera does have the ability to sound an alarm when motion is detected but it's not good enough in terms of scaring away anyone. As a result, I found that the two ways talk system doesn't quite work well with this camera because it's quite difficult to hear.But other than that perfect security camera system for my needs but obviously if the two way talk and speaker is important for you then maybe another option would be better.Hope you found my review helpful.
