Great devise for Dremel
Bought this to use in making wood signs. Very useful for controlling of bit when following lines of letters. The plunge of bit into the wood makes it easier and safer to control. The setting of depth after it is plunged makes it easier for final results. My first sign with this came out pretty good. Very pleased with product and would recommend for your Dremel. Paul

A nice little router attachment BUT...
I bought this for small work. My full sized, 18 pound router was simply too big and heavy for jobs such as inletting the hinges on a small box. The first job I did with this thing was just that... Inletting the hinges on a small box. I'm generally leary of attachments that claim to turn a small power tool into something else, but this worked well. The tool is very light, and the handles are big enough to give good control. My hinges seated the way I wanted them too, and my box closes square. MY ONLY PROBLEM WAS SETTING THE DEPTH OF CUT. I can't really figure out why this thing has to have the "plunge" feature, being so light that you can almost pick it up with your eyelid. The plunge springs take a fair amount of force to press down, and worse, I had to FIGHT them to set my depth of cut. I wound up pressing the base on the edge of my bench with my stomach as I diddled with the depth setting screw and the handle to lock it in place. I finally wrestled it to the point I wanted, and my cuts went in easily and accurately with smooth bottoms. After I was done, I started trying to overcome this adjusting problem. After looking the thing over, I TOOK OUT THE D*M'N PLUNGE SPRINGS. This was easy. Less than a minute's work by simply removing the screw and washer on the top of each post. I was intending to put a 1/2 inch drill bit stop on the non-locking post to stabilize things, but as it turned out, I didn't have to. The depth set very easily this way, and I didn't have to use enough pressure to press things out of line. The lock handle set one side, the adjusting screw held the other. I very easily set the thing for an 1/8 inch cut, and it worked beautifully on pieces of scrap wood. I saved the springs in the box just in case I ever decide to drive myself crazy with them, and as the tool wears a bit, I may need that 1/2 inch drill bit stop on the unlocking post. At this point though, removing the plunge springs turned a weak 4 star tool into a 5 star tool that will get regular use. VERY HAPPY NOW.

Works great with Milwaukee M12 Rotary Tool
Lots of complaints about "stiff springs" or "hard to plunge" but the only time i had that issue is if i didn't loosen the plunge lock knob enough. It is a relatively fine adjustment and takes SEVERAL turns before the plunge function is smooth and easy. This is a feature not a bug. The depth stop sucks big time, never stays where you put it since they are plastic threads that just vibrate loose. But I don't really think it's that necessary on a cheap flimsy tool. This thing is exactly what you should get for the price, you want a little better accuracy and quality then buy a WEN router for $20-$40 more. Perfect, exactly the right price, exactly what I needed for some routing in some custom 2x4 lumber shelves I'm making. Make sure everything is tight and you fully seat the tool straight and it works well. You get what you pay for, this tool is exactly what you need if you are shopping in this price point.

Not so great for routing, but decent for carving and cutting.
This item is probably being priced down by the manufacturer as a loss leader for selling the router bits, which are expensive. The cheap-o no-name router bits all seem to be too poorly manufactured, and even the expensive Dremel brand bits wear out, so you can expect to be spending more money than this thing costs on router bits if you use it for routing. "Compatibility" with this accessory actually has more to do with the rotary tool having sufficient power for routing work. Many rotary tools will screw into the accessory collar and "work" in that they will fit in the rig, but anything but the highest powered rotary tools are going to be too underpowered for the routing bits. Even with the highest powered Dremel tools, the user manual suggests at least two passes for "deep" cuts. The fact is that 1) rotary tools are really underpowered for a lot of routing jobs due to the higher bit cutting surface contact area involved and 2) there are almost no third-party 1/8" router bits (they're almost all 1/4") because people normally use at least a "mini" router and not a rotary tool. If you really need a router, then I'd say forget this accessory and just buy a router with sufficient power for what you need to do. On the other hand, this can be used as a sort of deluxe version of the drywall/etc cutting kit collar and you can use it just fine with hole cutting bits or carving burrs. There is a circle-cutting guide that comes with the rig, but it has the problem that it can't cut a circle any smaller than 6" in diameter or so. So my conclusion is that a rotary tool really doesn't make a very good router, and this router attachment is lame from a typical routing work perspective, but it does still come in handy for things like cutting bits or "routing" out letters with a carving burr. Just don't expect it to replace a router and you probably won't be too disappointed. And if you need a router, then the money you'd be spending on this is much better spent toward a mini-router.

Very nice
This works very well. I am pleasantly surprised. I used it to route out a recess for door hinges. I will say that the screws that hold the two main columns together vibrated loose pretty quickly on first use. Tighten them up and maybe add some blue locktite when you set it up the first time.
