Works great with a7iii
Needed this to run a V mount battery, works great!

This is great! I will use it when filming with the A7SIII.
Even though the newer Z batteries from Sony are better than the older W versions, when you are doing video capture with the a7SIII, you sometimes have to rig up the kit to the point where it's difficult to get to the battery door to change them. This dummy battery cable allows me to put the dummy into the body and then power it off of one of the many batteries that I already have that power my Atomos units as well as many of my smaller LED lights. This is a key component of any meaningful rigging up of the a7SIII but remember if you are a sony shooter, never use the 12V side of the sled--only the 7.4 Volt side of the plate. I put tape over the 12V side as I don't want any issues in the future!

Works great but wish I had the dtap instead of the barrel connection. But this is exactly what it’s advertised to be and works great with my A7s iii

Works perfectly for my A7iii where I attach to a NP970 adapter plate to shoot longer during music videos and personal projects

Sony A7S III Battery Warning
This product from Smallrig looked promising at first, especially since most of my rigs are full of Smallrig parts, but when I inserted this dummy battery into my new A7SIII and plugged the other end into the 8V port of my new Tilta battery plate, the camera gave me a warning about the safety and operation of the battery. Not worth the risk, so I am returning it.

Does NOT work for Sony a6500
My fault for not reading the exact description of the battery (NP-FZ vs NP-FW), I focused mainly on someones review below saying it worked for an a6500. Clearly though, it doesn't. Not sure how or why that review is still up, when clearly it's false. Anyways, I'm returning it and I'll have to find another brand. The quality of this one seemed nice, but unfortunately SmallRig doesn't seem to make one for an NP-FW battery.
